It will be hard to keep a sim managers interest over a long period of time IMO.

I don't see your point, though. To use this option (if it were implemented) you wouldn't have to have human owners managing in the minor leagues. You wouldn't even have to have minor leagues.

I asked how would minor league managers be judged

Battists responded probably like IRL

I asked how would that be?

Well, IRL I'd imagine two of the biggest factors are winning and experience. I mean, minor league managers have different challenges, but there's no question that winning is still important.

Definitely...maybe more along the lines of winning compared to team expectations.

This is an incredibly BAD thing without an option to turn it off, and it's postponed our use of the game with our online league.

Agreed, this has to be something you can turn on or off. Who really has a surplus of players waiting to get in to their online league to fill all the openings that would be generated from the game firing GMs.

I don't know why anyone would think it wouldn't be an option if implemented...just like it is an option in solo mode.

The problem our league (Solonor's SGCBL) has discovered is that this feature seems to have BEEN implemented and we can find no way to turn it off: In our test league, some of our human GMs have been fired! This just won't work with our online league.

Have we set up something incorrectly?

Maybe it was the conversion and the schedule mess after all. I started another test with a new fictional league (not converted from our old one), and I have tried intentionally screwing up teams with a human GM, and I cannot get him fired. That's a good sign. I will try another converted league later today.

to reiterate:
i just want the OPTION to make them not get fired.

I think that the "online" checkbox is supposed to prevent that. I have not had it occur again in my testing, so I am assuming that I either didn't have the box checked or it was fixed in the patch....or it just hasn't happened again...

FWIW, it didn't happen in the two years i simmed in my test league with all human owners. Even if they did get fired, couldn't you as commish just reassign them to that team?

No, you cannot. You have to delete them and re-add them. That was the problem I hit.

Yah, that's a pain in the arse since you'd lose all their history every time they got canned. Hopefully this isn't the case.
