Pitching prospect development in 6.5
I'm in an OOTP 6.5 league, and am struggling with a decision of whether or not to bring up a couple guys from AAA, and in what role. In your guys' experience, will bringing guys up as reliever help or hurt their development in terms of being quality starters later on?
These are the guys I'm talking about: http://www.aaronsmart.com/2006/p3173.html http://www.aaronsmart.com/2006/p3202.html http://www.aaronsmart.com/2006/p1538.html As you can see, Bucktrot has a seriously lagging Stuff rating...will this just come with time, or is it a serious concern? |

Hmm, Tejada looks ready, he's pretty much at his max for control and movement and within a few points in Stuff (unless his talent rating is 100+). He's not going to get much better, so if he can't cut it now, he never will
![]() Lewis I wouldn't worry about either, since his control is the only thing lagging and he's only 23. You might not call him up if other 50-control pitchers suffer in your league, but his stuff and movement are high, so I think he'll be fine. Bucktrot, I'd call him up as long as his ratings are comparable to at least average pitchers in the league. Stuff for me is often the last rating to go up in pitchers, and he's so good with control/movement, I have a feeling he'll do well in your league either way. Basically, as long as they'll turn out league average kind of stats, I think its safe to move them up to the majors. You just don't want someone to come up and do poorly, that seems to stunt development, in my experience.

Well, I was saying its ok for them to be league average. So, poorly would be worse than that
