Milwaukee has gone from one of the worst to one of the better ones in a pretty short amount of time. We'll have to see if they got lucky or actually are better.

There really isn't much a question that the Braves have one of the best scouting systems over the past 15 years. Cleveland, Oakland and Minnesota have done well, but not to the Braves level of consistency (both in terms of graduating players to the majors and having trade chips).

The Yankees, as much as it pains me to admit it, clearly "have [ ] a grasp of what makes a dynasty long term since Steinbrenner has had them," as they've won or tied for first in their division every year but two since the current AL East was created. Projections of how the Yankees will continue in the future are merely projections, while their past success is a very good indication that they know what they are doing wrt winning.

The Expos had a pretty good run of impressive youngsters going. They kind of served as the minor league team of the majors, developing talent and losing it to free agency.

But I think the Braves are the best.

Someone may correct me, but back a few years I thought these were on the farm at one time or another. Lofton, Belle, Baerga, Olin (before the tragic boat accident) Nagy, and Thome which were all pretty serviceable at one time or another. (I still can't stand Belle though. )

Another one that gets overlooked today is Victor Martinez. I saw him play in Akron for the Aeros and he was special back then even before hitting the bigs.

The Twins, Braves, and A's are also there at the top in my book.
