The Show is looking for 2

Just entering free agency for the 2011 season with a solid core of good gm's. The 2 teams open are the New York Yankees and the Houston Astros.

New York - http://theshow.ootpleagues.com/TheShow/team3.html
81-81 last season
23rd ranked farm system
41 million dollar payroll so they have money to spend in free agency
Great team that needs 1 or 2 pieces to be competative this season in the AL East.

Houston Astros - http://theshow.ootpleagues.com/TheShow/team22.html
80-82 last season
18th ranked farm system
64 million dollar payroll.
Team is in need of a good GM to reshape them. Good young players, but play in the tough NL Central.

3 off line sims a week that are held on time without fail (m-w-f)
Real Rosters, but as we go on the league has more and more fictional players
100 million dollar salary cap
uses most recent version of OOTP
Deep Ammy drafts
1-20 rating scale
Penalties for running a team in the negative (for those who hate leagues where teams continually run at a loss)
Particiapation points for mini articles/exporting/league votes that can be used to upgrade ballparks and players.

If your interested in this easy going fun league, feel free to post on the message boards in the wait list with all your information and which team you would be interested in http://theshow.ootpleagues.com/modules.php?name=Forums or send Joe an IM over aol at jmw678.

Thanks

I've been in this league since the very beginning, and have to say that it is one of the most enjoyable leagues I've seen. Whether I was fighting for a playoff spot or just fighting to stay out of the basement, I've ALWAYS enjoyed this league. We have an awesome commissioner, and the high GM activity makes this league competative and dynamic.

These two teams could be playoff contenders this next season, if you play your cards right! Don't be afraid to join...you won't regret it!

Houston Filled, Yanks still open.

Possibly 1 or 2 more teams to open so now if your chance to get in before the start of free agency.

Open teams:

Chicago Cubs -

http://theshow.ootpleagues.com/TheShow/team20.html

Great young team with some really good starting pitching and low payroll. Just needs a GM to guide them through the tough NL Central. Currently have the 6th pick in round 1.

Teams that could be open on Wednesday:

Cincinnati Reds -

http://theshow.ootpleagues.com/TheShow/team21.html

Farm system is depleted, but has some good talent coming into their prime (Scott kazmir and Rickie Weeks) to go with vets JD Drew and Vernon Wells.

Baltimore O's -

http://theshow.ootpleagues.com/TheShow/team1.html

3 great prospects to with a very good starting pitching staff (Harden, Santana and Merkin Valdez) and have the 11th pick in the draft.

Tampa bay Devil Rays -

http://theshow.ootpleagues.com/TheShow/team4.html

Truly a rebuilding project, but the Rays have 2 things in their favor. King Felix leads this staff and at 25 years old has plenty of time left to set records while BJ Upton patrols SS. And a 25 million dollar payroll meaning they have cash to spend once free agency starts next monday.

Cleveland Indians -

http://theshow.ootpleagues.com/TheShow/team7.html

Another rebuilding job, the Indians have the 10 pick in round 1 and a low payroll.

Montreal Expos -

http://theshow.ootpleagues.com/TheShow/team17.html

Yes you heard right. The Expos still exist in the Show and they are in need of some help. The Expos have the 9th pick in round 31, but have some key pieces that could be dealt (Berkman).

Only the Cubs are open at this point, but we should know for sure about the others by wednesday. If you are interested, post on the league message boards and post a list of your top 3 choices of teams.

http://theshow.ootpleagues.com/modul...=viewforum&f=7

Please post the following information:

name
e-mail
aol im (if used)
age
Amount of time spent on line
top 3 choices of team

If your team comes open on Wednesday, they are all yours, if not you will get your 2nd choice. 1st come 1st serve.

Right now 4 teams are open (Montreal, D-Rays, Cleveland and Baltimore). As for participation, as much as you can do is fine since the league gives participation points based on activity (exports and writings). Some gm's like to be super active, while some simply like to export.

Writing was my main question. With having three kids at home I dont have much time to write. I will take a look at the league tonight and check it out.

I completely understand as I have a 5 month old who i stay home with during the day. Writing is up to you. No one will make you write or remove you from the league if you don't write. Simply put, you can write as much or as little as you like. If little means 5 sentences about your new stud SS prospect, thats great, but if little means none, then thats fine too. The idea is that the commish wanted to reward people for taking their own time for the betterment of the league.

Baltimore has been taken at this time.

try a almost 4 year old and two 6 month olds. But if I join I will find time to write. I enjoy writing and want to get back into a little bit and this should be a good rust braker.

Tampa Bay is now taken.

We still have the following open:

Cleveland Indians -

http://theshow.ootpleagues.com/TheShow/team7.html

Trully a rebulders special. Think you have what it takes to turn this team around.

Montreal Expos -

http://theshow.ootpleagues.com/TheShow/team17.html

Yes you heard right. The Expos still exist in the Show and they are in need of some help. The Expos have the 9th pick in round #1, but have some key pieces that could be dealt (Berkman) to get some young talent. Possibly one of the few opportunities to take over the now defunct Montreal Expos and help their sad fans remember the glory days of the early 90's.

New York Mets -

http://theshow.ootpleagues.com/TheShow/team18.html

The Mets are lead bystud Middle IFer's David Wright and Jose Reyes, not to mention they have Ryan Wagner and Carlos Zambrano in the starting rotation. The Mets do not have much of a farm system, but their core is still young enough to be competative for 3 or 4 more seasons. This team is probably a contender right now if the right person steps in.
