Favorite "retired" photos

Something I've been meaning to do for the last few years is spotlight some of my favorite photos that are coming out of my facepack set this year.

Today's selection:

Joe Valentine.

I've always kind of liked this pose, and, more importantly, it hides Joe's freaky "I-might-be-satanic" eyes that disturb me greatly.

Joe is no longer with the Reds, so his picture will likely be changing.

I think this is the only pic I've used of Ramiro Mendoza in a Sox uniform. Just seemed to sum up his tenure with them succintly

trying to break up the pitcher run. this one isn't the only Julio Franco pic I've used, but I have used it several times - even though I wasn't able to crop it the way I would have liked to. From that memorable stance to being shot at an angle where you can clearly read his name and number, it's always been a fave of mine

Those are some terrific pics DD, and I hope you post more.

They seem to really capture the "player" much more so than the "action".

everyone so far are pictures I need to change due to the player changing teams. Here's two A's pitchers I am probably changing, just because I've used them in the last few sets.

both are nice renditions of a pitcher in action (and Harden's has the added bonus of the American flag in the background). But I'd like to find something a little more current for both players.

Hey Draft Dodger, do you have any photos of the LA Dodgers and NY Yankees? I'm looking for J.D. Drew and Jason Giambi. Possibly a few other random pics. Also, do you have any minor league pics? I guess I could look around for these but I thought I'd ask you first. Thanks.

today's pic is Damaso Marte in a throwback from a couple of seasons ago. I like throwbacks (much more so than alternates worn 50 times a year) and try to include a few per team if I can. anyway, this was also a tough pic to find, making it that more cool to me. Marte is now on the Pirates, so this will be changing.
