Improbable Lunar Orbit

I just had one of my pitchers give up a towering home run (445 ft). The game commentary said, "OH, MY, that just caromed off the moon!"

My team, Seattle, was playing at home. It was raining (yes, that Seattle), so the roof was closed. Either the batter managed to strike the ball in such a way so that the ball left Safeco field via one of the fan exits and then assumed lunar trajectory, or else the moon was pulled from its orbit and somehow tucked under the roof but above the outfield. I did search the News in game to find out if there were any eccentricities in the lunar orbit, but I couldn't find any articles.

The game I am simming is in early October of 2011, so if OOTPB is in any way predictive of real life baseball, that will be a very, very intersting time for astronomers.

It would be nice if Markus puts in some new HR calls in new version. I am bored with the same 5 or 6 there are now.
