Should I veto this Fantasy trade?

Owner 1 Sends:
OF Jeff Francoeur
SP Ervin Santana

Owner 2 Sends:
1B Paul Konerko
OF Carlos Lee

This is a keeper league and Owner 2 is trying to get a young team full of potential. I think this is a pretty bad trade.

Only veto if you suspect cheating. If an owner wants to make a bonehead trade it's his team to do with as he wishes.

Besides one never knows what will happen. I picked up Bruce Chen in a straight up trade for Dallas MacPherson before opening day last season. Looked terrible on paper but I actually ended up getting the better end of that deal.

Oh, yeah - if you're neither of the owners then hell no, you shouldn't veto anything unless there's some reason to suspect cheating.

I'm the commish, just looking for opinions. I dont really suspect cheating, but he's basically giving Owner 1 a couple of great players.

That's not really veto-worthy.

There's no reason that trade should be vetoed.

If it was in a stand alone 1 year league I could understand you considering a veto, but being a keeper league, undoubtably it should not be vetoed.

Frankly, if I were one of the owners involved I'd be pretty irate that you were even considering vetoing this. Basically, IMO you shouldn't be even considering a move like this unless you've got evidence of collusion or other cheating.

Some leagues have different norms. If you've got a league with high turnover with guys who come in and out and there's someone who takes advantage of the newcomers and helps promote that turnover it might be in the interests of the league to put a stop on that. This trade seems goofy enough to me that I'd consider stopping it in that case, as Francouer and Ervin Santana both seem like fairly lame keepers even if they top out on their potential.

Your job as commish is to make sure that things run smoothly and fairly. Your job is not to hold someone's hand if they're an idiot.

No veto.

It's a keeper league. Maybe the one owner is building for future years.

That's what the first post seems to indicate, and I don't see anything wrong with building for the future if you can't win now.
