Mike R, if you are missing html files i think that you should check the generate all box in the menu. This should force the utility to create pages for all of the players.

I have "generate all" checked every time I have ran it and still get player and team pages missing.

I tried doing it on an XP Home OS today and it crashes out when I choose the league files for it to import. I can't see what the message is because it flashes up and goes away extremely fast. I have tried removing and reinstalling the tool, as well as the JRE and it makes no difference at all. Anyone got a tip for me?

I had it working fine on a 98SE system, but my wife is tired of it being tied up processing baseball stats.

This was posted this forum, i think it answers your question.

The problem is most likely coming from the JRE not installing properly. I get an error message at the end of the install that I was just clicking on through. I went to Sun's site and there are others in the same boat as me, but no fix has been presented regarding the problem yet.

I don't get any error messages (that I can see) and it doesn't crash. Everything appears to be normal, except that I noticed some of the ID's don't generate (it starts at about 300 something) and some of the player pages are missing.

Have you tried toggling the Generate All button before generating your html files? I am not sure if this will fix the problem, but you might want to give it a try

I also didn't get any crashes, but when the whole product is done, all of the NL team indexes are missing or can't be found, as are individual team leaderboards, which is weird, because individual player indexes are working fine. Also strange: postseason stats appear in the overall team index file with appearances, wins and losses, but the stats don't seem to have imported. I clicked parse postseason box scores before I ran it... Any advice?

I know it's *NOT* my JRE install as everything else works just fine.

Hope this gets fixed soon as I've put my solo league on hiatus until it is (so I don't wind up with about 20 years worth of stats to process)

EDITED to add the word "NOT" which, without it, completely changes the sentence

Yes, this time I checked the Generate all option and this time all of the player pages generated but now the team pages did not. And it took about 5 hours to generate 2200 ID's. I don't remember it taking anywhere near that long in the past.
Anyway, I can't wait for this to get fixed, because its a great utility.

The utility does take alot longer but there is alot more info being processed...individual team leader pages, the leader boards on all the players pages...HOF info...and even more. I've got the utility almost working 100% except for 1 team page that won't generate (out of 16 team league) but I used the original version to generate the missing team page and copied it to the correct folder.

Anybody wanting to check out the new pages go here:

I went back to using java 1_4....I was using 1_4_0.03 and then 1_4_1.....the program generated all the html files without any hang ups....

1.Awards Index Page generates fine
2.Leader and Record Board Index generates fine
3.League Index page generates fine
3.Team Index page generates fine
4. Individual Team Index page generates fine except the Individual Team index batting and pitching records do not generate any pages......

my individual team batting and pitching record index pages didn't work at first but now they do (these pages are great...very easy to see who holds team career records)...and I didn't do anything different. This is weird how some people can run it and some are having serious problems.

I'm curious, if it IS the JRE, exactly what has changed in a minor revision to make a util which worked just fine on my system choke to death now... Yes, I know the util has been changed, but surely not THAT much... Weird.

I'm surprised that switching to 1_4 from 1_4_0.03 would mean that much also. I A M dependant on some of the features of Java 1.4, but there seems to be a problem with how the revisions are running the utility. That is probably why I cannot replicate the problem!

I'll search some newsgroups and see if I can find some problems. In the meantime, if you guys can go to Java version 1.4, that should fix your problems..

I should try an older Java on my machine. I have seen a handful of others posting in the Installation forum at Sun's JDC forums about the same problem I am having with the install. I was beginning to think it was tied to my Athlon processor, but then I saw someone post with the same problem who has an Intel processor. Ho hum.

After trying a few times, I realized it's not working correctly for me after all. I have only tried my 1st season (out of 12) and when I realized it wasn't correct, I didn't bother trying following seasons........

What I've noticed is when creating the HTML pages, if I leave "Generate All" unchecked, everything runs smooth, except that I do not get an "Index" page created for team abbreviation BOS, which happens to be the first team alphabetically (just a coincidence?).

If I do check off "Generate All", the parsing completes with no problem, but I get this error when creating the HTML pages, and just gets dumped out to the desktop. The error is from a text file that is created:

Well, I did see that Sun supposedly "fixed" some problems with the JDBC-ODBC bridge ( the communication method I use to talk to the database ) in both 1.4_003 and 1.4.1. It always seems to happen on the same line of code, which is the query to do the leaderboard appearances on the players. Very odd.

I'm continuing to look into it, and will hopefully have a way around it soon. Also, I am looking into the other issues as well, namely disappearing team pages.
