New to this, can anyone help?

Hi Everyone.

This is my first post, so apologies if this seems trivial and basic to most of you.

I am a completely new user of OOTP having discovered it by accident a couple of months ago while surfing round the FM website. What I have seen has been very interesting and as an existing baseball fan I was pleased to find a baseball management sim produced by SI (not meaning to take anything away from Markus' work).

The reason for this post is that I decided to take up the offer of the free download of OOTP 5, while waiting for the release of the new game this year, but as a realism freak I want to import real names and stats into the game. I have downloaded the Lahman database, but can't get the game to import from the database. It gives me the message " Could not open database! Path not found or wrong version". I thought I had unzipped the cvs files to the right directory but it still won't work. If anyone can assist this rookie that would be great.
