Babe Ruth. No doubt in my mind. He played in an era where juicing the balls and the players was unheard of. The Babe is hands-down the greatest hitter in history.
The fact that he drilled 714 homers in 8398 ABs, compared to 708 in 9140 ABs is an indicator of Ruth's prodigious power. Carry on... |

I read that too, he could have had 709 home runs. Babe Ruth was amazing, but Williams is the best hitter ever.
