Yahoo Dynasty League


This league was designed as a Dynasty League. The term "dynasty league" denotes that each owner is given the opportunity to keep their entire team at the end of each season without year to year restrictions. For our league the number of keepers will be 25.

The current line-up for the league is the standard Yahoo set-up of C, 1B, 2B, 3B, SS, OF, OF, OF, UTIL, SP, SP, RP, RP, P, P, P, and the league type is head-to-head with full Major League rosters available as a player pool (yahoo database). The league will be a 20 team league, like mention above there will be 25 keeper rosters and 5 minor league players (players not in yahoo database).

Trades may take place during the regular season and off-season. The trade deadline will be August 28th of each year.

Any trade agreed upon is done and final. The only way to get out of a deal is if both owners agree that the deal was a mistake within the two day trade review timeline (i.e. if someone accidentally pressed "Accept" and both owners agree to void the trade, or if both owners are persuaded by any means to agree that the trade was not in their best interest, etc.)

The commissioner may veto a deal at any time if it is proven that the trade was made through collusion and/or indifference. Said owners will then be locked (and hopefully flogged within an inch of their petty lives).

Communication for a keeper league of this size is essential.
Please keep all IM names and email addresses up to date. If I cannot get in touch with you when starting up the season next February/March, you will be replaced immediately.


AOL Instant Messenger will be required for this league. It is free and easy to download and set-up. It is the most effective form of communication within this league. If you don’t already have it please go download it at http://www.aim.com/ and provide everyone with your screen name. If you do have it just post your screen name on the message board and I will compile a master list for everyone.


Remain active. If at any point in the season you let more than a week go by without updating your rosters, and have not stated why, you may be locked out and replaced the next year. If you leave for any long amount of time and will not have access to the internet, you should contact me to adjust your daily roster properly while you are gone.


Minor League Rules:


1. I will not be adding an addition 5 roster spots this year in addition to the standard 25 roster spots. Originally I had planned for those 5 roster spots to be for you to pick up and store your minor leaguers should they be added to the Yahoo system. Unfortunately, some owners, knowingly or unknowingly, abused this system. Therefore, from now on all minor leaguers added to the system will say as FAs until you are ready to add them to your 25 man major league roster.

2. When you are ready to add your minor leaguer(s) to your 25 man roster, you may pick them up by dropping someone currently on your 25 man major league roster. After that your minor leaguer will officially become part of your 25 man roster and CANNOT be sent back down to the minors.

3. I will try to double check that the minor leaguers names are spelled right on the minor league rosters, that will be posted season long in the Commissioner’s Note section of the league. Be sure to check this list whenever someone hits waivers to make sure you are not wasting a waiver on a player that is already someone else’s property.

4. In the event you do pick up someone that does not belong to you, you will be asked to drop him immediately, and you will not be given your waiver back, if you used one. Also the player your dropped will not be returned to you unless he has not been picked up yet. Consider yourself warned.

5. Trading Minor Leaguers:
- Minor leaguers can be included in any trade along with or for major and other minor leaguers. You can only trade for a minor leaguer if you have room, so if you currently have 5 minor leaguers you cannot trade for another one until you clear up space.

Minor League Draft:
- Each owner has 24 hours to pick before they are skipped, and the next owner may pick. The skipped owner can pick at anytime after they are skipped.

- You can draft any player NOT in Yahoo’s database, meaning any player in the minors, any players that have declared for the draft, and even foreign players. You cannot draft players who have not been drafted by the major league teams in the yearly amateur draft. However, you can draft players who have been drafted before but did not sign with the team and instead went on to college or international/independent leagues.
- Draft order at the beginning of the season will be set in accordance to the previous year's standings. The first 14 draft spots will be decided by the standings from the previous year. The final six spots will be decided by the how the individual playoff teams finish the season. If you have a full farm system and decide not to drop any of your 5 minor leaguers you will not be included in the draft.

- You must drop any current minor leaguers if you choose to draft new ones, so if you have 5 minor leaguers you’d have to drop 2 if you wanted to draft 2 new ones. All drops will be done before the draft, and all dropped players will be part of the draft pool.

- Trading draft picks is allowed, but both owners must let me know. Only owners in the draft can trade draft picks, and only for the current draft. No trading of future draft picks is allowed.
