Around The Horn has an opening!
Around the Horn was created soon after the release of OOTP 5. We are almost to All-Star break of our 12th season. We currently are using OOTP 6.51a!
We try to add as many of the extras as possible, BOSI, Catobase, as well as having the GM's vote for things such as All-Star teams, All-Star venues, and all of the end of season awards. We use Corranto as a way for GM's to post their own team or league news articles if they wish. There generally is atleast one or two new articles written each sim. Whether you are a GM who is looking for good OOTP competition, solid writing, developing history, or most importantly...a GM who is looking for solid, stable league that you can count on to be around...to be fair...and who always listens to new ideas and ways to make the league even that much better...the Around the Horn league is for you. We currently have the Toronto Blue Jays open. With the right touch you could definitely turn this team into a contender. Please check our site: www.ath.ootp-online.com, and if you are interested, or just have questions, contact the league office at: ath@insightbb.com Last edited by neohemp; 02-01-2006 at 07:29 AM. |

Adding the powerhouse Oakland A's to the teams who are availble.
Oakland has won their division 9 of the 11 complete season, winning the wild card in one of the other seasons. Only one season they have failed to make the post season. Coming into our current season they have a record of 1122-659. The original owner has stepped down as has recently gotten married and had a job/career change that he needs to focus more on. I have to admit, you take this team and you are getting a good team. On the flipside though can you maintin the .600 winning% our former GM was able to maintain in over 10+seasons. So our current openings at the moment are the Toronto Blue Jays and the Oakland A's. We are approaching the final month of the season so if you want to get in a safe part of the season where you can get a feel for things before the offseason starts now would be a good time. If you are interested in either of them let myself or Dave (Neohemp) know at ath@insightbb.com or holycow_98@hotmail.com We do require you to own OOTP 6.5. We sim twice a week, 10 days each. AIM is encouraged but not required. |

Bump
Oakland and Toronto still open with one month left in the season. Oakland is sitting pretty leading the AL West division by 9 games with the leagues 2nd best record at 91-42. A playoff team that is good enough to win a world series. Toronto needs a little more work currently in 4th place at 59-74, 23.5 games behind the Yankees. The team could go in a few directions. They look like they should pull in about 71-72.0 mil in revenue this year (with 14.3 in cash) and have a current payroll 69.2 mil. 8 player contracts are up at the end of this season (approx 31.0 mil of the current payroll). A new GM would have about 52.7 availble for contract extensions...or could start a rebuild with a team in solid financial shape to do so. If either of these teams interest you just let us know at: ath@insightbb.com or holycow_98@hotmail.com |

Sven: Sent you a email Wendsday night. They are yours if you want them.
bpjffe: Haven't gotten a message from you but that probably means you sent it to Dave. We will be in touch ASAP. AZJAZ: Thanks Scott. Scott ran the first league I ever joined, the NLB...I believe in 2003. 3 days after that I joined my 2nd league....which was Around the Horn. Amazing how time flies...its hard to believe the ATH is approaching 3 years of operation. |
