I am pretty sure that he has given a "no" to in-game expansion in at least one of the interviews he has done. I'm sure you will still be able to do it with some effort like in the current version though.

Manual editing is all I really am asking for. If I can get an official word...

I hope we can do this. I always like adding 2 news team to the American league so the NL and AL can have same amount of teams (16) apiece.

Markus, it is in there right sir? Tell me you allowed this to continue.

Why not just start the league with 32 teams?

It would be very easy to do! It would be done the same as the Rule 5 Draft but thePlayers and Pitchers left unprotected could be drafted by the new team and the Draft would keep going intill the new team or teams decide to stop drafting!

I too would be very surprized if it were impossible to add teams.

However, I'm more concerned ab out adding/removing/altering leagues themselves than teams. It can be beneficial to fictional simmers, but it's a must for historical simmers.

Without it, Historical simming would be not be very enjoyable. I would hope he hasnt forgotten about it.

To me it seems that is would not only make it not very enjoyable, it also seems that it would be flat out impossible if you wish to sim for more than just the pre-expansion era.

I think the historical simmers are the forgotten children of this release. This will be the greatest fictional career game that ever was, but as yet I don't see any improvements that can be really utilized by the historical simmers. We don't have a database to expand the minors, which drags us back towards fictional players. If we can't even utilize the historical structures, we're in real trouble. Those structures changed over the years, and not just in the major leagues.

Not quite. The leagues options seem to allow a financial structure to be in place without a free agency. The inflation aspect of the game is really something I am looking forward to, and the split season. Now 1981 can truly be simulated.

Uh, that's because no such master database exists in the real world. There is information on the minors spread amongst a lot of places, but no one unifying file that has everything.

Any such master collection of info would be an absolutely HUGE undertaking. And that's just league-level info, like member clubs and nicknames, final standings, attendances, major league affiliations, etc.; player stats would be another gigantic endeavour unto themselves.

Trust me on this; I know it firsthand just from trying to pursue the minor league schedules how daunting it is to tackle researching the minors as a whole.

Well, there's no issue with league structures. You can pretty much do anything you want there. Expand, contract, relocate teams, all of that is no problem since minors can be set up as entirely separate, individual leagues. About the only thing you can't do is have one minor league club be jointly controlled by two major league teams; co-op situations aren't possible.

It has taken me a month to just gather teams, stadiums, affiliations, league structures and what not. As for the history, it is spread all over the place and in such inconvienent formats that it will take a real comitment from someone.

I wonder if you'll be able to sim multiple years without having the game ask you to import real rookies every year. Like have an option to always import em.

Saw Markus had answered some other questions, so I moved this on up to the east side.

Come on Markus. Give us a hint. Like "yes", or "no". You already have my money.

Its not like I am asking for a release date or anything.
