Add Teams/Changing League Structure After Universe has been created
I know there is no coded expansion in this version, but I was very curious if we can still add/remove teams or edit the league structure between seasons manually like we can in previous versions.
If this can be done, is there still going to be some type of proceed to next season button for each league for almanac purposes and such? I ask this question because I know that the new version is based more on a year round calendar than stages. Thanks |

Hmmm...
I kind of expected somebody to chime in with an "of course you can!' by now... I hope the silence doesn't mean otherwise...

It's an excellent question and one I wouldn't mind hearing an answer to. Hopefully someone in the know will chime in.

I can't believe this would not be possble. That would break historical replays in a real, real, real bad way.

I'm 99.9% sure the answer to the questions is yes. It's either mentioned somewhere in one of the earlier blogs or it was answered in an earlier thread on the board.

If this isn't possible then I demand my pre-ordering money back. That would make the game unplayable as I always start my leagues in the 1800's and go through the era's of MLB.

Most of SI games have the league structure hard coded so they cannot be altered and the season changes from one to the next one on a set date. If you're going to have the ability to run winter league baseball you're going to have to have a system something like this otherwise you would have problems with year round baseball.

It seems unlikely to me that they'd take a step backwards by not letting you fiddle with a league once you've started it - it'd only alienate a sizeable proportion of the fans! It may be that you can make changes at any time and then set the date when they'll take effect.
Another possibility is that, in similar fashion to the other SI games, OOTP06 will have 'database update' dates twice a year, and changes will be implemented on these dates provided they're set up beforehand. Obviously, those are both guesses ![]() Of course, if you can't make changes to a league once it's started, there'll probably be a work around by importing your existing league into a new league whenever you need to make changes. Then you can alter the league set up and start date and set it off again

It would really ruin Historical leagues. Cause then there would be no expansion. I remember Markus saying that there was still expansion in the game.

Okay, forgive me if I'm posting in entirely the wrong place, I'm new here.
I'm trying to understand the new league formats. My baseball Universe, the RCBL (Rotisserie Chicken Baseball League), is patterned somewhat after UK Football. That is, our major league is the Premier League, then first division, which loosely translates to AAA, and so on. Thus, there is relegation and promotion each season. So, with 2006, will it be capable of easily trasferring teams between leagues without losing histories and such? |

If it's not part of the game then I guess if you start in lets say 1990 then when the year comes up that the Miluakee Braves became the Altanta Braves the name changes won't happen! He hasen't tell us what kind Expansion will be in the game!
