Pro Bowl Snubs

My Pro Bowl snub is Mchael Bennett. He is 2nd in the NFC in rushing, but Marshall Faulk gets in ahead of him? The same Marshall Faulk that has been hurt a lot of the year? I think Bennett should have gone in ahead of him.

I'd have to agree. That was a pretty big snub.

In my opinion it should be Barber, Bennett, and McCallister. Here are some stats that are interesting.

Bennett- 1160 YDS Rush, 305 YDS Rec, 1465 YDS Total
Barber- 1124 YDS Rush, 519 YDS Rec, 1643 YDS Total
Green- 1057 YDS Rush, 371 YDS Rec, 1428 YDS Total
McCallister- 1245 YDS Rush, 342 YDS Rec, 1587 YDS Total
Faulk- 897 YDS Rush, 490 YDS Rec, 1387 YDS Total

How about zero Tennessee Titans going to the Pro Bowl, that is pretty amazing, especially seeing as though a player from Cincinnati is going.

Lorenzo Neal was a deserving Fullback. And he the best he could for the Bengals. And since fullback is a lost art and hes in the running each year they give it to him.

people in the pro bowl aren't always the people that deserve to go but they go because they are popular. marshall faulk is probably the second best running back in the nfl behind priest holmes. he should have been left out because there's more people that more deserving and haven't even had a chance to play in a pro bowl. if he hadn't had any injury problems this year he would definetly be a no brainer for the pro bowl.

Steve Mcnair was more deserving. Guy played through injuries and showed what a real leader is.

Drew Bledsoe did a good job, but slowed down at the end of the season.

Personally, I don't see why they voted with 2 games left. Shouldn't it be based on all 16 games?

I agree. What's the point of voting before the season's over?

Roy Williams has some great numbers, but he got posterized a couple of times this season, and I think that got in the way.

I think Barber and Bennett should have been there as well. I think Bennett was hurt by his lack of TDs and a slow start.

What about Brad Johnson? He's having his best year of his career. Definately a snub.

Probably logistics.

Besides, there is always the inevitable injuries which knocks out a couple players in the last 2 weeks and playoffs which opens spots for guys that got overlooked during the initial voting.

I was very glad to see Barrett Robbins get on the Pro Bowl team. In the wonderfule tradition of Otto, Mosebar, and Dalby, he's another truly great center with the Raiders.

Look for Rich Gannon to win his 3rd Pro Bowl MVP!

Yeah, today's game definitely makes a case for waiting until the season is over to vote. If the voting was today, Tiki Barber would be a shoe-in.

I don't know, he did lose three fumbles. I agree, he should be in though.

Either way, he's a lot more deserving than Bennett.

A lot more? Really?

RUSHING
Barber: 1387 yds, 4.6 ypc, 11 td
Bennett: 1214 yds, 5.1 ypc, 4 td

RECEIVING
Barber: 69 rec, 597 yds, 0 td
Bennett: 34 rec, 320 yds, 1 td

OTHER
Barber: 8 fum, 6 lost
Bennett: 4 fum, 3 lost

Barber's advantages are only in TDs and receptions/rec yards. Their seasons are pretty similar, but Bennett holds onto the ball a lot better. I think they're comparable. You make it sound like it's not at all close.

The only reason Bennett only has 4 TD's is because Moe Williams comes in on short yardage and he has 11 or 12 TD's. I think they should both make it, and take out Green and Faulk.

That's quite misleading. Four more fumbles over the course of a 16-game season is not as much of a difference as you make it out to be. Especially when you compare it to Barber's huge advantages in those other categories you mentioned, a.k.a. the important ones. You also didn't take into account the fact that Barber is on a playoff team and Bennett's team completely tanked. I agree that both had very good seasons, but I'll stand by my statement.
