ABL Website Additions: Feedback

Guys,

I'm not very good at HTML, and I use Frontpage 2002 to do my ABL page. So, bear with me.

I just added some new stuff to my league's webpage, and I'd like some feedback. Here is the link:

ABL Home

What I added:

-Prospect watch, below the main headlines.

-Awards watch, at the bottom.

How does the format look? And does anyone have to scroll to their right to view anything? Also, any suggestions on how to make the page better? I've given up a lot of news stuff for graphical stuff, but that's mainly because I sim five times a week, and lately (graduation from college and engagement, pending move to CA), I haven't had time to update as much as I would like. It's easier to do this grid stuff.

Anyway, any feedback you guys provide is appreciated, and I'm sure it will be insightful as always.

Peace
John

John: Think your page looks great. Have been an FP user since 98 edition, currently using XP. One of the best imo for web design.

One thing you can do to prevent anyone from having to scroll right, (I don't btw) is always set your tabel width in %, and never pixels. This way, no matter what resolution a viewer has his monitor set to, the page will always fit left to right. The only thing that would alter this is if an oversized graphic was inserted, example 1800 x 1200 image will stretch your table regardless.

I asume you have a table with 3 columns for the current layout. What you can do, is create a 3 column table, set it to 100% width, then insert another table in each column, set them to 90 or 95% width and center them. This will use up more of the width of your page, but still give space between each column so they don't look crowded together.

Here's a sample of what that would look like - My Web Page

As you can see, I used borders on some of the tables inside the main table, which is 3 columns wide as per my suggestion above.

If you have any other questions about FP, feel free to fire me an email here - BruceM
