Let's Keep the D-rays in Tampa

There's been rumors abound for a while that they will be leaving. What do you guys think?

Nah. No reason to contract any teams.

I hope they stay and whatnot. As a Twins fan I know what its like to worry about losing your team. It sucks.

Should never have been created. Tampa cares slightly less than Miami about having a team.

Number 1 reason for contraction is Dan Miceli. If there are that many roster spots in the major leagues that a complete bum like that guy gets on one we need to seriously think about eliminating some jobs.

In the first place, Tampa doesn't have a team. On a map, sure, St. Petersburg and Tampa are the same place, but in the real world, it takes an hour to get to Tropicana Field from most of Tampa. Putting a team in St. Petersburg was akin to putting a team in, say, Vancouver.

I'm not sure a team would succeed in Tampa, but it would do better than a team in St. Pete. But no team would draw well when it loses 90 games every year. That's a very old principle.

Get rid of both the Florida teams. Either that, or send one to Portland and the other one to Virginia. Hmm, that might not work either.

When I think about the Devil Rays, I can't help but think of that one solitary heckler that can easily be heard over a television broadcast.

That guy obviously has season tickets, he's there every game.
