Just saying if there were net rumors about me getting fired or quitting today, and the students were calling for a "blackout" (wearing black shirts to the game, saw several in the crowd but not as many as I would have thought), I would probably show up for the game, that's just me though.

He'll lose his job soon enough.

So Davis like now he is blaming the fans for his teams play and the fact that he was sick ... what a freaking ass

http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/column...ndy&id=2327443

I had my black shirt on in front of the tv today. It's hard being a diehard IU fan and wanting them to win and lose at the same time.

As an Illinois fan, there is nothing I love more than seeing the Indiana fans act like Idiots. Yes, please root against your own team. Yes, please protest your own coach.

Maybe the team would actually win some games if Marco Killingsworth could hit some free throws......

I'll agree that Davis isn't the best coach in the game (well at least he's no Bruce Weber), but come on, at least support your team and wear your team colors with pride. Then again, Indiana has been a black mark on the Big Ten since the Bobby Knight days, so maybe the black shirts are appropriate.

Well at least we did beat Illinois so I guess our program isn't all that bad.

Hey, don't be crass. I think Indiana has a great chance to win the whole NIT this year.

Didn't the rumors of his demise begin about two days after he got hired?

And gee, I have no idea where he gets the talk about there being negativity aimed at his program.

I can't believe anyone ever thought Mike Davis would be the answer there...even before he was hired.

Might as well just hire Dane Fife now and be done with it.

Bruce Weber isn't a good coach either.

Illinois offered that job to Dana Altman before Weber.

Bell Self takes good teams and underachieves with them. He has never won a big game in his life. He can definitely recruit.... I mean look at him, he's a typical businessman. Weber is more down to earth, and definitely more of a "real" person. I'd take Weber over Self in a heartbeat.

If Self can rebuild things over at Kansas he might be heralded as a hero, but until then, he still hasn't done anything to warrant the acclaim he generally gets.

Well, he took an SIU Saluki program and completely revitalized it, turning the team from 3 consecutive losing seasons to 3 consecutive winning seasons and an NIT berth in 2000. And then he led the team to it's greatest season in school history, a Sweet 16appearance in 2002.

In his second year at Illinois he led them to their first outright conference championship in over 50 years.

He took an Illinois team without a great big man and only lost 1 game in the regular season last year, giving Illinois national recognition and it's best season in school history.

He took an overmatched Illinois team and almost beat a superior North Carolina team in the NCAA Championship game.

He won the conference championship, the conference tournament championship, and coach of the year.

I'm not sure what else you want from the guy....
