Here is an interesting thought. I was playing the OOTP 6.5 the other day and my wife was looking over my shoulder. She was quite intrigued and asked me how old the game was. So, I told her. She asked if a newer version was out yet. I said "no, but they are working on it. They have been for what seems like forever."

Her response was priceless. "I bet all the other baseball-geeks out there like you are waiting for $1,000,000 for it to come out. I have never even played the game and I want it to come out already."

I was confused at the part where he said "my wife". I was like, "Wait, people here have significant others?"

I bet = the closet gambler and unfaithful spouse that I am, I imagine...

all the other baseball-geeks out there like you = idiots

are waiting for $1,000,000 for it to come out = are expecting to use family savings for purchase of OOTPB 2006

I have never even played the game and I want it to come out already = the release of this game will finally rid me of you as I see your best friend behind your back

I dunno either...but then it's not uncommon to have trouble deciphering the grammar of a Buckeye.

P.S.: Q: How do you get the Ohio State grad off your front porch?

A: Pay for the pizza.

It is, of course, entirely possible for us to have significant others. One simply has to observe some careful rules:
  1. Screen potential mates carefully. Ask simple questions like, "Hey would you like to see a game?" or "Are you a fan of baseball?" or "So, what's your take on DIPS anyway?"
  2. When your potential mate goes to the bathroom, search his/her purse. Look for baseball schedules, baseball cards, or Lyle Overbay's hotel room key.
  3. If your SO/potential SO is not a sports fan, explore the possibility of bribery. Start by offering a nice flowering plant to see if she will let you watch a game. Perhaps roses when you want to spend a day with your OOTP dynasty. Adjust to taste.
  4. (Corollary to #3) A simple candy bar should work if you want to watch a lesser sport (Arena Football, NASCAR, Soccer, etc.).
  5. Observe her carefully while she sleeps. See if she mutters sweet nothings to someone named "Markus" or "Marc Duffy."
  6. THERE IS NO RULE NUMBER SIX
  7. (If she mutters sweet nothings to someone named Sublimity, RUN)
  8. If all else fails, resort to cold hard cash.

You, sir, need to join the wild word of OT (or get yourself on to MD's ignore list, same thing).

My parents started dating after my father's younger sister, who was my mother's roommate in college, introduced them, saying to them, "You two both really love baseball. Maybe you should get married." They did.

Okay, Okay. So, I reread my post this morning (since I wasn't feeling to well yesterday) and realized that my grammer wasn't the greatest. What she stated was that we were all probably waiting for this game as much as we would be if we knew that we were getting a $1,000,000 check in the mail but didn't know when we were going to receive it.

I hope this clears up what I was trying to say before. I know return you to your scheduled programming.
