Cool Meet Kylie Minogue or Elle MacPherson!

Yes, as the new GM of the WLB's Sydney Sharks you will could have the chance to meet Kylie or Elle at exotic venues like the world famous Sydney Opera House. The Sharks are a well respected well balanced team who need a steady hand to help them over take the World Champion Moscow Red Warriors is the WLB Asia Division. Helping them are WLB star Mu-s-h-i-t-s(avoiding censors ) Iwazanz (lifetime .326 BA), rookie sensation Jeffery Deas (21 and Brilliant in BA Talent, 7 rating), and young pitcher Bruce McAveney (25 and no pitching talent below Good!).

We are currently in the 4th round of free agency and Sydney is also up to make the 7th pick in the first round of the amateur draft, so any new GM can make an immediate impact on this team!!!

The WLB is fictional OOTP5 league with:
- four years of OOTP4 history
- traditional ratings
- finances on ($75 million salary cap)
- coaches/scouts off
- no DH
- renamed players (for international effect)
- live sims twice a week (Mondays and Thursdays) of two game weeks
- live amateur draft and All- Star Game

We are also very newbie friendly and only require that you own OOTP5 and have some solo OOTP experience.

If you are interested, please email me, Ben Music, the WLB recruiter, at ben.music@testquest.com with your name, AIM handle, your experience and why you'd like to join us in the WLB.

I look forward to hearing from you!

It looks like this will be the last chance in our little offseason shake-up to pick up a WLB team.

Sydney's something of a project; they were well under .500 last season and their minor leagues are not crawling with talent. But they're solvent, they've got some good young talent here and there, and their fan base is still reasonably good.

It seems like a franchise that could be poised either to get into contention or absolutely tank, depending on how steady the hand is that guides it. To me, it looks like a chance for someone to test his GM'ing mettle.

And, I can pronounce most of the players' names

As an original member of the WLB, I can say that it is a great league that has gotten continually better every season. If you're in for the long-term, give the WLB a go.

Ben is correct when he says this league is newbie friendly. This is a group of quality people and is well-organized. The little nuances of the league (such as renaming players to make them consistent with the country that drafts them) keep this league fresh.

The only negative thing I can think of assuming control of the Sydney franchise is that the upstart London Ravens will probably sweep them this year

Seriously, if you want a good, fun league, join now before all the quality free agents disappear.

I can't believe that I looked inside a thread with Kylie Minogue in the title. *shudder*

But the league would probably be okay, Kylie or not.

I know, I should have used Elle as my lead in, but you have to admit the thread has got a good number of looks! Unfortunately though, no prospective GMs have applied!

Come on people its a great league! Sign up!

Wow! I can't believe it's been almost three years (and 16 seasons!!!) since we had an opening for the Syndey Sharks. Legendary owner, Matt Backx, has decided to step down and persue altruistic ends. Boy, did he bring this team a long way, with 2 World Championships in the last 3 years Matt has patiently build this team into a powerhouse.

Do you think you can live up to the proud legacy this team has? If so AIM our commish Gary at DJMaxito4000m or email him at gbgraves@rogers.com.

We are currently complete the post-season for the 2021 campaign. Our league has changed a little bit in the last 16 seasons here's the details.

The WLB is fictional OOTP6.5 league with:
- twenty years of OOTP history!!!
- standard 1-10 ratings scale
- finances on ($75 million salary cap)
- coaches/scouts off
- no DH
- renamed players (for international effect)
- Cato and BOSI
- great set of active GMS

We are also very newbie friendly and only require that you own OOTP and have some solo OOTP experience.

If you've ever thought about joining an online league this is the time!!

this is still surprisingly not the weirdest title I have ever seen. One post like a year ago tried to get people t o join by advertising the fact that the olsen twins and BEA arthur were in the league and that either one of them would go out with you if you joined(I kid you not)

Take note: While this team is stacked, some very difficult choices will have to be made. We have a 75 Mill cap and the team will have to move approx 25 Mill worth of salary, so the new owner will have to juggle the best possible lineup while moving some top notch talent for less than they would normally be worth. Plus age is creeping in as well.

Wow, it is a real bummer to lose Matt. He has been among the best GM's in WLB history. Filling his shoes will be a real challenge. Any of you out there up to it? Can you sustain the brilliance of this Eastern Hemisphere juggernaut or will the Sharks slip back into typical EH malaise?

Yes, this league has some serious rivalries as well. Moscow v Sydney, Eastern Hemisphere v Western Hemisphere, etc.

From the top to the bottom this is one of the best leagues out there. If you have the chance to join it, you should.

Sydney filled, see thread on Sao Paulo vacancy. Rare to have an opening, let alone two in the same week. People move on, and new people come in!
