55 Japanese Greats Database

If you are interested in importing real Japanese Hall of Fame players, who played between the 1940's to recent, into an existing league, you may want to download the "55JapanGreatsDB".

It's in Lahman format so you can import the players directly into the game from the Free Agents section. The database contains a player list with names and a link to a website that shows the players season by season stats.

If you feel a player belongs in this database that I didn't include, PM me. My guidelines were kind of strict as to what players made my list.

EDIT: The reason I ask about how you came to your ratings is not because I see anything wrong with them (haven't even looked yet). I am just always interested in finding new info, and Jim's sight is one of the better one's I've found for JApanese baseball.

Yes. I used Jim's site to narrow the list as there are detailed comparisons and rankings on his site.

I mainly used http://www.japanbaseballdaily.com/ Data Warehouse to enter the existing data into the spreadsheet.

I recommend importing these players in years where they are more developed as some had debut years with too few games and the game will automatically deem them as bad players. By looking at the accompanying players list you'll get a link to Data Warehouse on http://www.japanbaseballdaily.com/ . Take a look at the player's career and select a year to import him to meet your needs.

The test was run in a league with 135 games per season and only 12 teams. Same as real NPBL for most of his career.

Actually I didn't do any ratings adjustments at all. The game does the ratings on import. It's exactly like a Lahmans DB in that the real stats are used by the game to create the ratings for each player.

True. I always forget that about stats/ ratings. I was thinking along the lines of "actual stats" vs. Jim's "MLB equivalents". I like the stats you from Oh, I'm looking forward to importing these guys. Thanks for all the hard work.
