Start of another new stadium
I was playing around and then this field started to turn into something I liked. Still haven't finished it yet (lights, advertising, outfield seats?, etc)
Any ideas for the stadium name? or any other additions to the field? |

I think you should have a giant hotdog in right field. What goes better at a game than a beer and a 'dog? As for a stadium name the rest of the skyline had me thinking....
Anheuser Memorial Field of Dreams Then again that might be too long.

Greenfields Park.
Great job on this one. It is beautifully done. It might be one of my alltime favorites when finished. It will definitely be used in my Ruthlandian and Tycobbian leagues set to start when Version 7 comes out. I wish you would do a series of minor league parks. I know it takes you a lot of time to do these stadiums. But minor league stadiums are really needed in the game, especially with the OOTPBN 2006 permitting us to actually play out the minor league games. I really like the way you did not fill the stands to capacity. This is more realistic way to do it. The grain elevator and train off in the distance is really a nice touch, too. It adds alot to the feeling of the ballpark location. Suggestions: Put distances on the outfield signs...please make them large enough to read...make them realistic based on the stadium fences.. Make some parks that are not symmetrical as far as the fences. Add a larger scoreboard...maybe in right center outside the stadium...so it doesn't spoil the view of the brewery. Add some billboards extensions above the fence. Make the billboards lettering large enough to be read. Place a Bud ad on each bullpen wall in LF and RF. Nice idea to put the bullpens there. Wonderful park, Blueturf. I agree with Eugene regarding the partially filled seats and the scoreboard suggestion.
I really like the train and grain elevator in the background. Nice touch. If it was in North Dakota, I would call it Flickertail Park. For Montana - Big Sky Stadium. Hmmm...Hee Haw Stadium?

Point of perspective with the silos is wrong.
The cornfield is moving away from you to the middle of the pic. The silos are moving away from you going to the right. The silos should be nearly the same height to fit in correctly. Great design...........just my take. |

This looks like a modified Field of Dreams...not that that is a bad thing. I wish I could create stadiums like you guys.

I'd have some dirt (some sort of roadway) on the front/back of the silos. They wouldnt be placed in the cornfield and corn planted up to their edge.

Very nice adjustments, blueturf. I love the classic feel of this park and it's smalltown or rural atmosphere. This is a keeper for anyones fictional ballpark collection. Thanks.
PS: By the way, I'm also happy that you settled on my suggestion for the ballpark name.

A beautiful stadium.
Can't wait until you finish it. Changing the silos greatly improved it. Also like the billboards and scoreboard. Hope you will do a series of small town stadiums. That would really be something special. I like the name. DreamTeams is great at that. Last edited by Eugene Church; 01-12-2006 at 02:00 AM. |
