Name File Alpha Test
I've been working on improved name file sets for OOTP some time and have an alpha version ready for testing. This file set replaces the complete OOTP6 name file sets with new and improved versions.
All files were derived from census data. The Hispanic name files were reviewed by several Hispanic members of this board, and the Asian name file sets were reviewed by Fidel Montoya (who teaches in Japan) and one of his students. This is an alpha and not a beta test because the NAMES.DAT file will be replaced soon (I hope) with an expanded one with better frequencies (hand editing these name files is a *long* process). This set does work and is better than the stock one, even if the frequencies in NAMES.DAT aren't all that they should be. So, if you want to test the files, PM me your email address. Getting good feedback from the alpha testers, the replacement name file set should be ready for beta next week. Anyone want to host it?
