Here, here! Halo your work is greatly appreciated! I just feel bad you were pressured into releasing your latest update too early. Its funny but so many people that post here seem to think you do this for a living or something. I know this is a hobby you enjoy very much. We value your commitment for a project like this for the joy of giving us all a resource to play our "game". Happy holidays to you and yours and thank you for the continous service to enriching our "gaming" experiance.

You shouldn't care about prospect ratings since tons of players turn out better or worse than they are. I don't even look at them, it makes it more gfun.

Thanks John

as for Ruggiano, i have 3 reports on him from scouts in the Cardinal, Angel and Mariner organization and they feel fairly close to what you said, however, because i use the stats base, he translates into what you see....now i will say this tho, his contact is set at 80 right now and when i imported this set from OOTP 6(i released 2 sets), that rating was changed in the transfer. His rating in contact is set at 71 right now, but will most likley bouncs around 15 times before the season even starts. Over a full season, he is projected at 25 HR, 115 RBI with an average around .320...now we all know that is highly doubtful, which is why rookie (blue star) ratings change so much...its different with gold players, i dont have to adjust them as much.

Now you agreed in the most part with my Ramirez rating, however, most people will disagree with you and I. I quoted Jim Callis 2 years ago on Ramirez as saying "he is Barry Bonds with a better attitude"......Barry Bonds??? Nope sorry, i even have the scouting report on Ramirez from a Florida scout that was faxed to me in July. They drooled over him and they project him as Edgar Renteria! They have been pissed since they dealt him. Its apparent you and me are together on this one.

As for Pie, he reminds me of another Cub savior in Patterson, but if you ask any Cub fan out there, they are frustrated with him.

The problem with the game is it doesnt let you rate intangibles. For instance, you mentioned Ruggiano cant hit offspeed pitches, but there is no way to rate this in the game, and if there was, im sure things would look alot different

Sorry we got off on the wrong Mike. You're right again about Pie, he is a lot like Patterson, and if he's rushed by the Cubs like they did Patterson the results could be the same. He's very RAW but with extremely high potential.

I put my $ where my mouth was too. $20 just came your way. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

Cheers, Stuart

If Hendry continues to run the Cubs, the whole team will implode

No hard feelings tho really....now since you donated, i will hold up my end of the bargain and if you want, ill make you a set off your desires

I appreciate the effort you have put into this, just to have all these prospects listed and all the rosters moves managed makes it something I can use out of the box.

For my purposes right now I am going to use this roster set to get familiar with version 6 as I have not used another version since version 3. I will manage the Mets and well I have pulled off trades that probably would never happen

Kent for Kaz Matsui
Sheffield for Victor Zambrano
Hermanson for Jeff Keppinger
Linebrink for some overrated prospect

Was able to sign Clemens to play for the Mets and resign Piazza, so they will be a battery.

And Humber is the best prospect in baseball which he isn't, but this is for fun and an alternate reality so I hope to run 60 seasons way past my lifespan starting in 2006 with this set.

Thanks again for your efforts.

Being a person that makes roster sets for basketball sim games, I can appreciate the amount of effort that goes into making a roster set.

Considering that baseball has even more players than the NBA (not to mention the minor leagues) the effort put through is extroadinary.

For that I say thanks to Halo for his efforts.

For those that like to criticize the work done all I can say is... do it yourself then.

I am so tired of reading the complaints on this thread about the players/ratings/stats.

So much of the work goes unappreciated.

you are right, it doesnt get much attention, but ive been doing this for over 3 years so i guess im used to it. I tried to please everyone with my very first set and i think i pissed everyone off instead, so i began using the method i use now and it seems to make MOST, not all, happy, so im cool with it. When someone has a problem, i spend about 3-4 days on that player, seeing if i missed something or adjusted wrong as this has happened before and will happen again, im sure.

The one problem that i do have with making this set is that i created it from scratch. i did not use anyone else's set as a starter. I created each and every player and rated them all (over 5000 and counting) with no help. Most if not all of the sets besides mine, use my set as a shell to start with and then players are re-rated and adjusted with their own method. I have only seen one person credit me in their set. That bothers me the most, when someone takes my work of 2 years (before the first ever release even) and my almost 2 years of work and claim it as theirs. There isnt anything i can do about it tho, so i just move on and try and improve my set as best as i can.

Now im not knocking any of the other sets or their work and im not saying that my work is not appreciated at all, but in my 30 years i have realized that you will only hear the problems and very rarely do you hear the praises...its ok tho, ill still put my set out

Believe me, I have created basketball rosters for TPB2005 and JSB 5.55 and also used to make rosters for OOTP4 and I can really appreciate the great work that you do.

Your rosters are very good compared to what I used to make and what else I have seen.

Didn't mean to get on a soap box and preach but I understand the feeling of putting a lot of free time into something and kep hearing that "it's not perfect".

Keep up the great work Halo.
