Ultra Reality Baseball needs Astros GM

Ultra Reality Baseball needs a new GM for the Houston Astros.

We are in our second season (1984) and feature full minors with real minor leaguers. Players enter the league in the season they turned pro, with all minor league statistics from their entire careers used for determining ratings (using Bill James' Minor League Equivalencies).

Not only does this get them into the league faster, it also insures that those guys who got a cup of coffee will get rated accurately because their minor league stats will make up the "missing" years from their major league record in the rating process.

URB strives to be as realistic as possible - teams lose draft picks for signing free agents, full finances are on - including waivers, Rule 5, the whole shebang.

If you're interested in a unique historical league from a great era, please email me at the link on the league's homepage, or PM me here.

Thanks for reading,
Joe

I really like how Joe has put this together thus far. I had never really cared for historical leagues, in the past, but I really like the "players enter the league in the season they turned pro" feature that URB is using. We just recently finished up the minor league draft and the ratings were very realistic, in my opinion. I encourage anyone who would like to relive the 80's and up, to consider joining. Don't let the lack of activity, on the message board, fool ya....I don't think any pick was comp'd in the first round and all the GM's made their picks in a timely manner via email.

I was able to snag MR Jeff Nelson and SS Jody Reed for letting C Carlton Fisk walk in free agency. Here's how our first round and supplemental went....
