Somewhere the '05 Chargers are celebrating (ok, I highly doubt it)
I think next weeks game will be tougher then this one. This win won't count unless we can win the next two weeks, and then, we still aren't a lock for the playoffs. (Damn Monday night game)

And to think that there were rumors of cutting Kaeding in the preseason...

It was indoors, and I bet he was sweating bullets. I don't think he will be a Charger for long. He has poor leg strength on kickoffs and they don't even trust him to do onside kicks. Not to mention, he has cost us a couple of games.
On that note, Great game Nate!!!!

Personally, I think the Colts threw the game in a bid to win the Reggie Bush sweepstakes.

I'm probably alone in my opinion, but it doesn't bother me that they celebrate when undefeated teams lose each year. Are we really suppose to believe that people are happy to see their records broken? Are we supposed to believe that a little piece of Roger Maris didn't die when Big Mac hit #62?
I think that the '72 Dolphins are just more honest about it than others. |

Every single season you don't hear from the '72 Dolphins, and if you do, I'd like to know what programming you're watching. The only time those players get interviewed about that season is when another team (i.e. Colts, Broncos) come within reach of matching their feat. Other than that, I really don't hear a peep. It's no different than if an active player is approaching a single season or career record held by a retired player. Whenever that happens, that particular record-holder is thrusted back into the spotlight again. It adds hype to the record chase and, after the record is broken or missed, it's more or less just something to report. When Peyton Manning broke Dan Marino's single season touchdown record last season, would you expect no one to request an interview with Marino? (Pardon me for the other Dolphins record, but it's the best I can come up with off the top of my head.) And, for the record, if the Colts had finished undefeated this year, I'm sure that the players from the '72 Dolphins team would've been respectful. Obviously anyone who achieves something signifigant like that wants to stand alone in the record books. But most athletes are understanding of the fact that, cliche as it is, "records are meant to be broken". The trash talk you're hearing is part sincere -- in that it's human nature to want to stand alone -- and part tongue-in-cheek.

You'll love him he's great on kickoffs, don't worry about his 50% FG percentage. And BTW blaming Kaeding for the playoff loss is stupid, the reason they lost is that the playcalling was awful. Shottenheimer gets waaay too conservative and thats usually when the team ends up losing.
