Help wanted

Can any experts out there please help. I am a UK follower of baseball & have purchased OOTP6. It looks a very interesting sim but I have 2 problems
1) I have downloaded lahman51 but cannot integrate the data into the game, as I wish to replay with real players. Please advise the necessary steps( in simple terms !!)
2) If I play a match in its entirity, the stats and result do not go into the standings , whereas the sim matches all appear correctly.
Any advice greatly appreciated

I'll answer #1 for you. Be sure you first unzip Lahmans. In the offseason it will ask if you want to import real rookies press yes. Import to real teams? Pick what you want then it will bring up a screen and just go to wherever you saved the lahmans folder.

With Lahmans make sure that you are using the CSV version of the database.....

Check out the section called OOTP FAQs. Some are out of date or for older versions, but many can be applied to the current version of the game.

http://www.ootpdevelopments.com/boar...splay.php?f=15

There is a specific FAQ for importing players from the database in very simple easy to understand steps.

As far as playing a game (or "match") and the statistics not counting, are you sure that you are playing a scheduled league game and not an exhibition game?

Also, with Lahman, are you trying to import a historical season? Or are you trying to play with the most up to date season, but with real players? Because there are some great rosters out there from this past season that are a lot better than just importing from Lahman. However, if you are looking to replay an historical season, just read the FAQ on how to do that in the section that I linked in my above post.

Thumbs up

Thanks to all for rapid replies. Will try steps you suggest & let you know. Would also be interested in location of suitable databases other than Lahman for recent seasons if you can recommend them.
The problem with integrating stats has occured while starting a season with the original schedule , players & teams supplied in the game, not in exhibition game mode
Thanks

One of the best modified databases would be Ankit's database. He has done several different modifications, and the best thing to do would be to read about each of them and figure out which one sounds like the most fun to you. Also, there are many different roster sets from the past couple of seasons, with probably the most common and best loved one being AngelinOF's roster set, which he updates constantly.

You can find the modified databases, roster sets, and many other OOTP downloads (logos, stadiums, etc, etc) at jazzrack's website.

As far as the problem of the scheduled game in season not counting, I have never seen that happen, so I'm clueless, but if you continue to have the same problem, post it in the Troubleshooting forum and I'm sure someone will be able to help you with that.

After you've played the game for a bit, you'll probably find that it's more rewarding to play with fictional players than with real ones. Most of the old timers around here end up with all fictional leagues. The game is much better at creating its own new baseball reality than it is at recreating the real one.

Thanks for ideas.Am now up & running replaying 1989 season (since my first live baseball was at the new Skydome that year). Have had problems of game crashing when trying to generate stats at the end of a game, but after looking around website have found it suggested that turning off in-game sounds may solve this. So far so good.
