Future openings
UBL is planning to expand after the end of the season. We're in our 5th season . 2 teams have switched to the 2 expansion teams so that makes 2 openings. There is also 2 teams open immediately due to inactivity.
Pittsburgh - http://www.sportssims.com/ubl/html/team24.html Almost a lock for the play-offs this year and probably next year as well. Rock solid from top to bottom. St. Louis - http://www.sportssims.com/ubl/html/team25.html Not a contender now but a loaded AAA and top minor leagues will make them noticed next year but will take a little time to get off the ground Washington - http://www.sportssims.com/ubl/html/team17.html One of the top teams in the league, would have even been better with more activity with injuries. Young and destined for 100 wins. Milwaukee - http://www.sportssims.com/ubl/html/team23.html Similar to St Louis but with more ready talent. Tough division but a good, young team all the way through League Page - http://www.sportssims.com/ubl/ Email bacon7826@yahoo.com or whiteshaft2121 on AIM if you're interested in taking on a team. Game is required but if you're a good GM, an exception could be made.

I have never seen anyone accused of cheating as many times as Bacon has been. That could just be because of the kind of company he keeps, but I know first hand what a jerk he is. There's a 100,000 other leagues out there with openings; choose one of them.

I can confirm. After a few searches, I've found this guy can be trusted as a commish (or member for that matter).

Well Remanjii since you won't talk to me via AIM like an adult that's fine. You ran UBL for about a season, we talked a few months after that and haven't talked for about a year, not really sure why you think I'm a jerk or why you feel the need to try and spoil my thread but I apologize for anything I did to you, and regret I can't name it or hear it from you other than in a sabatoging post. Good luck to you regardless and hopefully people will still give UBL a try. Thanks

Bacon, this is the reason why we haven't talked.

I remember that now Remangiii and I apologize. I think we talked since then but if not, I understand why. TPF was a very frustrating game, people quitting leagues and leagues folding every day. Like UBL, I kept UFL going as long as I possibly quit no matter how many people "ran out of time" or "were bored with the game". When UBL was down to 15 GM's 2 years ago because Mirc wasn't a very popular choice for a league headquarters, you stayed the whole time. Even ran the league for a season when my wife had a baby. It wasn't right but when you quit I was very frustrated. The one guy that stuck with UBL had quit UFL and I said the wrong thing. I apologize if it means anything now.

HARSH. I get a warning in another thread for just showing a link between a bad commissioner and the gm he kicks out of the league. Something is not right here..... Good thing Bacon doesn't whine and cry to admin like Ozziethesaint does or everyone would be getting warnings for posting opinions here......... I stated nothing more harsh than what was said here about not wanting to join a league run by Ozzie and I get a warning, ask for an explanation of what forum rule I broke and I hear nothing back. I guess the squeeky wheel gets the oil, and ozziethesaint is the oiliest of them all....

I know you cheated when I ran UBL. There was some guy who wasn't very active but was one of your friends. He had Colorado. You brought him back into the league and traded someone making a lot of money for someone not making a lot of money. You said the trade was made via e-mail (the league didn't have a message board) but the other guy was never heard from again. The trade went down right before Free Agency started. Given the two other threads on this board (one started the morning of the crash) which accuse you of cheating, there's no doubt in my mind that you cheated there.
Cheating is also common in leagues where the commissioner is the only one with the league file. Back in the day, UBL didn't post a league file. Finally, it was rude to force PFXCarty out of the commish spot like we did. I feel that you misrepresented things and manipulated me to get you to go along with it. So you can post as much sympathy seeking, woe as me, type posts as you want but that doesn't change the fact that you're jerk and a cheater.

yeah and you're stuck in the past, a 3 year grudge over something a "normal" person wouldn't even be upset about 3 years later. You must not have much of a life if 3 years ago in a sim league is so crystal clear to you. Call me a cheater 3 years ago, whatever. I tried to make ammends but obviously I have altered your life in a way that can't be erased. Some day I hope you can look past what happened in a sim league 3 years ago but somehow I doubt it. I guess I'll just look for owners the old fashioned way since you all have poisoned my thread with dirt from 3 years ago that was never proven obviously as UBL is standing 3 years later. Thanks

Once, closed it to run a TPF league, which was a mistake. Re-opened it after TPF basically folded about a year ago

Jon Ellingboe - lumberjackgm on AIM is a prime example of "an exception." Doesn't have OOTP but is a good GM and has been around quite a bit. Thanks for your 2 cents though and the little sense they made.

No actually it makes perfect sense, all GMs should be treated equally, it is obvious that a newbie without the game wouldn't have the chance to get in the league. Just an observation I am making
