Atleast one of these five prospects will be involved on the Cubs side of the deal according to reports:

Jae-kuk Ryu
Ricky Nolasco
Sean Marshall
Renyel Pinto
Angel Guzman

Did you hear that the deal was done, or just that they are talking about it? Also, this could probably go into the Cubs offseason thread.

Im upset they didnt trade Pierre first as hes been the most likely to go for awhile now...Id like to see bigger names for the Marlins (aka the next Dontrelle), but the future is the future. Im glad to see Pierre on my other favorite team, assuming he comes back to form. Our outfield will be fine with two up and comers, Aguila and Hermida + Cabrera (even though he'll be at 3rd) & Encarnacion. By "will be fine" I mean itll be acceptable until we are competitive again.

I think the Padres should offer Sean Burroughs and a bucket of baseballs for Miguel Cabera and Dontrelle Willis. I bet they would take it.

Cubs will not trade Guzman unless it's a blockbuster trade.

I get the feeling that 2006 will be time for the NL East to beat up on the Marlins all year.

This deal actually seems far from done.

Part of me doesn't want to see two or three quality young players (plus Patterson) get traded for Pierre, who I haven't made up my mind about. But he also seems to fit what the Cubs need, so part of me just wants to see this get done and over with.
