Reset and erase career records doesn't seem to work

I am trying to restart a league and would like for all reports, records and stats to be zeroed.

Reset and erase career records doesn't seem to work. Old stat remnants are still on the player pages and player reports. Career leaders and leaderboards are still there. This process just doesn't seem to clear all stat files.

I did a search and posted on the Discussions Forum yesterday.

I tried what SandMan and ctorg recommended, but to no avail.

Steve and sporr: any ideas about how to solve this?

I would appreciate any help you can give.

Thanks.

Career leaders (and the HOF) also contain players in the RETIRED.DAT file. I'm not sure if you can safely just delete that, but you should be able to replace it with a "blank" one that you generate in a dummy leage - once that is gone, then the career leaders will only contain active players (if any qualify).

Thanks, eriqjaffe.

I'll see, if that helps.

If anyone knows if this is solvable, please let me know.

I tried to do this several years ago and the same thing happened. I think at that time, there was no solution.

The only real way I know of to get your league back to its original state is to restore it from a backup copy outside of the game.

Thanks for the quick response.

I figured that I would not be able to correct my problem.

Any idea why "reset" and "erase career records" doesn't function as designed?

It sure would be nice if they worked.

I am going to have to get in the habit of creating a backup of each league prior to beginning play in them. That way I can go back at start over again at the beginning.

My guess is that something like this has been low on Markus' priority list since it can be handled outside of the game. I know that may not be the answer you were hoping to hear.
