Talking *** PATCH 4.2b announcement ***

Yep... there will be another patch, version 4.2b

Here is a list of the fixes. Please, if you know any other password issues, let me know!

- Finally resolved all password issues in online league mode.

Team passwords allows (if set):
- Access to all team screens. The roster main screen may be accessed without the password.
- Show team offers in free agent period.
- Make contract offers during free agent period, and export offers.

Commish password allows (if set):
- Everything that is allowed by the team password.
- Simming/playing games in the league schedule screen.
- Proceeding rounds during free agent and coaches signing period.
- Access to the draft main screen. (The predraft screen is now accessible for everybody, so
that the rookies report can be accessed.
- Access to the league setup screen
- Access to certain functions in the online league options screen
- Making contract extention offers

Once the commish password has been entered, the game will no longer ask for passwords as long as the
league/game is open!

- Withdrawing offers now transfer along with contract offers when importing/exporting offers during FA period in online league mode.
- Player history now includes more trade info (who was involved).
- Fixed a rare bug that sometimes caused a huge negative amount of cash for teams that qualified for revenue sharing.

Cheers!
Markus

Sounds great... to add to the "Player History" feature, is it possible for it to be a bit more organized. Something like a bullet format would be great, as currently it all runs together and can be a bit hard to read. Even doing it by year, with bullets would be a great addition.

PS - I'm assuming this will be the last patch for OOTP 4, as you probably need to start concentrating on OOTP 5.

Can you make the requirements to appear on the retired players list smaller... either that, or just make them editable? It may be too much to ask ... but I (and probably some other too) would really appreciate that.

Oh yeah, and the amount of at bats/innings pitched necessary to be on the all time leaderboard should be editable too!!

Sorry for being so demanding .. those are just two of the things that are really bugging me about the game right now ....

Cheers.

Excellent. Will this new feature of changing player history update players already in the game who have been traded? Also I am certainly for the reorganizing of the Player History paragraph.

We are lucky to have this kind of support however I don't think it's unheard of. Pretty sure that Pure Sim and Championship Manager are doing the same thing.

Thanks for your continued dedication to giving us the best baseball sim possible.

If only Infogrames had the same philosophy... I have a feeling us Season Ticket Baseball users are going to be waiting another month for this new update. On the bright side, I don't think you'll hear much complaining when we all have to switch over to OOTP next year!

There is no doubt that i will be buying OOTP 5 next year. I might not ever buy another Infograms game. Between RC Tycoon 2, UT 2003, and the patch problems with STB 2003 I have had enough of them. Thanks alot Markus for your hard work.

So I won't have to edit this info like I've been doing? See Cecil Cooper for an example of what I mean. The processing of trades was easy, manually updating each players history got long and boring!

In addition to trades, any chance you could also put in the player's history file the contract extensions they've signed? That would be great too! Keep it up Markus!

Is there anyway besides changing the display settings to include a fix for the scroller problem that many people now inherited with the 4.2a patch? For some people that patch fixed the problem while for others they just started having the problem. Unfortunately I'm one of those people!! ;(

Either way, thanks for another outstanding patch and I can't wait until OOTP5!

I actually had that problem and updating the video driver on my system resolved it. Could be a driver issue for you.

Just my $.02
