GABL Royals (1981) are open (OOTP5)

The Golden Age of Baseball is a historic online league that had it's start in the 1977 season and is about a third of the way through the 1981 season. We use OOTP5, and game ownership is required. The Kansas City Royals recently opened up and are in need of a good GM. The Royals are led by 3B-George Brett (4 year averages-.295/22) and 1980 ROY Willie Wilson who batted .321/8/68SB's in his initial campaign. Their pitching staff is aging, with the exception of 24 year old closer Jesse Orosco. Bert Blyleven, Fergie Jenkins and Dennis Leonard headline the rotation. They have a solid minor league system that features SP-Dennis "Oil Can" Boyd, OF-Lenny Dykstra, 2B-Tommy Herr, and other lesser known names such as Jim Gott, Craig Lefferts, Scott Fletcher and Marty Barrett. They have a number of upcoming free agents and are in dire need of some good direction. The Royals were the dominant team in the AL West, winning the division in both 77 and 78, but have slipped to mediocrity in a division now dominated by the Oakland A's, and this year, the upstart California Angels. We sim 3 times a week, M/W/F and it's on a 7/8/7 schedule. We import rookies in the year they were drafted rather than the year they appeared in the majors, making it necessary for most of our amateurs to need minor league development. Check out the site
