Deadball Era Strikeout Values

Hey

Currently in my Career League I'm in the year 1904. It only just occured to me that the strikeout values were somewhat low. For example last year Willie Sudhoff was made to look like a super-human when he managed NINE strikeouts in a year...smashing the league record of seven. My spidey-senses began to tingle...

I checked the League Setup page and the league total for strikeouts was 161. Hmmm. Can someone suggest a more appropriate value considering:

Year is 1904
ABs are in the 49000 region
There are eight teams and 162 games/season

Any help is appreciated

Here is a thread that I have listed all my league settings and I how I change them each year. If you follow the same basic premise for your league you should get excellent results. However, keep in mind it does take a few minutes extra work at the end of each season.

Hope it helps you.

Thanks that has helped a lot. I've simplified it a bit (guess I'm less of a purist) but the base figures were very useful.

My solo historical sim started in 1903, and in 1904 I still had injuries turned off, so these numbers may not work for you, but according to the ERACalculator, I was within 2.8 % of all the real life totals at the end of my sim (highest difference was 2.8% higher with BB's....K's were within 0.7% !)
