In my league, I have checked to jump into any ongoing nono after 8 innings. so, i jump into a game where elmer dessens has a no no going. not a great pitcher, but some no hitters are by average and subpar pitchers. the 1st hitter gets a walk. he then proceeds to steal a base. then the 2nd hitter moves him over to third with a grounder. the next hitter sacrifices him home. the last hitter gets out. so basically, dessens got a no hitter while giving up one run. doesnt happen very often, but its whats great about the game.

I bet your English teachers are so proud. Yyzlin, that's one of the things I like about OOTP4. Every game is unique. I'm in 2013 of my single player season, and I have yet to see a no-hitter. That's pretty cool that you got to watch one. |

I believe it was Warren Spaun pitching for Pitsburg in the 50s who had a perfect game going for 12 innings. In the 13th the first batter reached on an error. A sacrifice and a hit and he loses the game 1-0 giving up only 1 hit after 12 perfect innings. I'll need to watch my "Baseball's Greatest Moments" tape again to verify the details.

I've had 1 no-no. I manage the Mariners, and Joel Piniero threw a no-no against (of all offenses) Texas!! At Arlington. Not the pitcher friendly Safeco.

Who has the Yankee who pitched an 8-inning no-hitter and lost 4-0 about ten years ago? I remember Jesse Barfield dropping a fly ball with the bases loaded to score a few of those runs.
It was one of the "no-hitters" that was wiped out when baseball clarified the rule in the 90s. In fact, I think there were actually two pitchers that year who threw no-hitters and lost. Anyone with a better memory care to fill in the blanks? |
