Installing License

I recently reformatted and upon reinstalling OOTP, my license worked for 6.5 but not 6.12 but I cannot start 6.5, it gives me a message saying that no license was found for OOTP6. When I try to install a license for 6.12, it gives me error code 501, saying the license is not found. I am not copying the order id wrong.
