Download Problems

Hi!

We are currently investigating the issue that some have problems downloading the game and/or patches. It looks like it's a server setting problem, which cannot be easily corrected. We might need to change our servers, but first we would like to know how many of you had problems downloading stuff from our site without using a download manager!

Thanks for your assistance!

Markus,

I can only download things WITH a download manager. Everything else disconnects and I have to start over. Just FYI.

I always use a DL manager w/broadband and never have problems either. I'll try re-DL'ing the 4.2a patch without the DL manager to see if it is a problem for me.

IMO we are best off abandoning that sinking ship that is Off Topic to the rats infesting it and just starting a whole new Baseball Forum from scratch.

It took me about 10 tries to get a full download of the 4.2 patch.

Had to dl 4.2a patch twice (first time was an incomplete file). Other than that, no problems with a cable modem.

I've had a few problems where the computer will say the download is finished, but in reality it's only a partial file.

Had trouble getting the game until I went to the ftp server. The last two patches have taken 2 or 3 times each to get them. Couldn't get the whole file if I tried during the afternoon but was able to complete during evening hours. I live in the central time zone.

Looks more like a dial-up problem

Same issue when using a dial-up 52K. File was incomplete. Seems to happen more when the updates are new. I just give up and wait a week when I am guessing the traffic is lower.
