Post Mike Darr

Of course everyone has heard by now of the tragic death of Padres' CF Mike Darr in a car crash. We're planning on retiring him in our OOTP sim, but I just cannot figure out the injury code to end his career. If anyone knows the code for this, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and RIP Mike Darr.

the code for a career ending injury is 254. 255 is the code for season ending.

Eh..Sorry to bug you again, but I'm not sure exactly what to put into the player editor..I'm on Mike Darr's player profile in Pierre's Player Editor(Version 4)...I put 254 in the Injury Number space, but what would I put in the follow spaces:

Injury:
Injl:
Days Left DLL:
% Injury:

Thanks a lot Mike or whoever else replies.

I'm not really sure what you would put in for those. I think Injl is where you put the injury code, Injury you can just type in anything, like Died in car accident, and the other 2 can be left blank I believe.

Cool

Here is my understanding of the injuries in Pierre's editor.

Injury:"0" is durable, "1" is normal, "2" is prone
Injl:Length of injury in days, up to 99 days
Injury # is the specific injury. (If you open the injury file in your ootp folder, you will see a list of 158 various injuries, with codes to determine length etc. If you want to know which injury # to type in you simple count them in order. The first injury listed is #1 and the last, in my version of the game is #158, and so forth. To add an injury, simply type in want you want the text to say, e.g, "died in Auto accident, 0,254,254,,,," the 0 means the player is out, and 254 indicates career over. Since this is added to the list of 158 injuries, this one would be injury number 159. Since there is no provision in pierre's editor for a season endeing or career ending injury, you must the go into the game(after closing the editor first). When finding Mike Darr, simple turn on the edit switch, choose injury status to injured (this will cause the text box to say "died in auto accident), then select length of the injury typing in the code 254 which will yield career over.

Days Left DLL:Adjusts DL status

% Injury:Applicable if status is day to day

Regards,

Batman

There is no injury "died in auto accident" include in the game. You must add it to the Injury list folder first.

Go to your OOTP folder and find the icon named injuries. At the bottom of this list, type "Died in Auto Accident, 0, 254,9 , , ,.

Then Save.

Go back to Pierre's editior. Change Darr's injury # to 159. Save and then close the editor.Open your OOTP game and select Darr's card. Click the edit button. Select Injury Status to Injured.

Hmmm..Yeah, it took me awhile too.

Lemme think.

First you have to make him have a career ending injury in the game using the editor inside the player profile. Then..
Go into the player editor and you gotta type 159 in the Injury # if you typed Died In Auto Accident into your injury file. Make sure your game is closed while doing this. When done, close the editor and open the game, and it should be fixed.

Good Luck,
Chris

You can also edit the news stories in your league, if you wish to have this included in your league news. Just locate the "story" files in your league's news folder and type the story in your choice of words.
I play a solo historical league and recently did this with SS Andujar Cedeno. For those true to history.

Dear Ace,

You must down load the editor. If you do, be forwarned that it doesn't work while OOTP is running. I have had no problems with it. It is an excellent tool. Try this address:

Good Luck,
