I played 2B/SS/CF for the Knoxville Phillies for two Little League seasons back in 1989 and 1990. I totally was the team leader in RC, OPS, WS, EqA, VORP, and SecA.
Just kidding. But I did lead my team in SB's and 2B's both seasons.

The Florida State Seminoles may be forced to turn to a third-string safety against Syracuse this weekend, since injuries are slowing the Seminoles' top two players at the position, just FYI.

Although Morgan Ensberg went over the 100 RBI mark this year, he is still 16 RBI away from cracking the top 10 RBI marks for the Astros and 35 away from Bagwell's team record.

October 2, 1974: In the Rangers season finale, Billy Martin allows Fergie Jenkins to hit for himself rather than use a designated hitter, the first such incident all season. Jenkins singles off Twins pitcher Jim Hughes and scores the Rangers first run in the 2-1 win. Jenkins also goes on to post his 25th win of the season.

July 24, 1983: The infamous 'Pine Tar Game'. George Brett's 9th inning 2 out 2 run home run off Yankee pitcher Rich Gossage gives the Royals a 5-4 lead. Billy Martin points out the pine tar on the bat exceeds the limits allowed. The home run is disallowed and the Royals protest. The protest is upheld and the game will be continued August 18 with the home run to count.

June 9, 1984: Pete O'Brien's sacrifice fly gives Texas a 4-3, 12 inning win over the A's. With the bases loaded and one out in the bottom of the 12th, A's left fielder Garry Hancock catches O'Brien's deep fly ball, then intentionally drops it when he realizes he is in foul territory. The umpires rule the catch was made and Wayne Tolleson scores from third base with the winning run.
