I am very happy. The only feature that really disappoints me is the unretire. If it causes problems with Catobase I'd rather not use it.

The manager tendency lock, player popularity and team focus seem to work well and are easily worth $10 to me.

I don't know about anyone else, but it seems to me that the AI for the computer run teams is greatly improved. I added 6.5 to a league that was at about the 1st of June and immediately the crazy, for example, free agent signing followed by immediate release, stopped. That's worth ten bucks every damned day.

The greatest thing about this game is that it allows you to be as intricate or as simple as you wish. Certainly there are things that annoy me as well, but it destroys any "competition".

I have to say it's worth $10. The improved AI is very significant. In addition to all the other significant improvements already mentioned, there are nice little "nuggets" of new value everywhere. For example, when you trade for or sign a minor league player, that player now goes to the level of the minors for which he is ready! Being able to toggle L/R/Total stats in your lineup screens is neat. The Major Transactions button on the League News screen is useful. Having talent ratings on the front of the player card saves me a lot of time because I play with performance ratings off and am always checking talents. Overall, I'm pretty happy with it, although I haven't seen some of the bugs people are talking about having to do with unretirement and benching superstars. The one thing I would like to see fixed is ltrans.txt for Catobase purposes.

Team focus works for non financials league too.

first goto a team roster
then if you click on the dollar sign on bottom right side it will open the front office screen and you can see the team focus for that team.

very odd that your able to see the team front office screen with financial off. i think the dollar sign on bottom right should not be there for non financial league. you can see team payroll, salary, attendance, revenue, expense, ticket price, team focus, etc on it.

team front office should totally be disabled when having financial disabled. but its not on ootp 6 and ootp 6.5

I agree 100%.

6.5 is far from perfect, but it is improved in several areas - and that's all I really wanted.. one last final march until v7 comes out.

It's an improvement over the previous one in my opinion, and a nice interim version to be playing while waiting for v7 to come out. As fro the price, $10, are you kidding? That's about £6, can't even get two gallons of petrol here for that!

Hmm, so you can get in to that screen, but I wonder if the values actually change and are taken into consideration by the AI.

This reminds me...one of my big pet peeves was when this was done. I know people were crying about it, but frankly I don't see what the big deal was that the "Front Office" menu option was there when you were playing with financials off.

The thing is, I still found the financial history button in there useful because it gave me a nice straightforward report of the team's W/L record and divisional ranking through the years, which you can't find anywhere else. So it was a bit annoying when this "feature" was put in.

But it's good to know you can get in again now (I just never use those buttons on the bottom, that's why I never noticed. )

I hope this isn't "fixed" now too.

Okay that's cool then!

Kinda weird that it's so "hidden" when playing with financials off. I asumed that since it was on that screen, it was off when financials were off.

I really like the Milestone Watch feature...
It would have been even better if it showed you players getting close to career and season records as well. I care more about those than a guy hitting his 200th home run.

Why is it we can't state what we are concerned about and would like to see fixed, without making it a personal vendetta against OOTPD?
How is saying "I think certain features were added for padding" a personal vendetta against OOTPD? Its a an opinion that very well may be correct.

A list of features was provided, most of which worked as advertised, some which were disappointments - nothing out of the ordinary here. In addition, Markus has already said there will be another patch at some point, so he's shown (as he always does) that he is willing to try and resolve any outstanding issues.
I agree

Because BC, if I said I'll paint your house. Paint half, you you pay me for it, and I don't paint the rest would you be upset? When Markus says he will implement a feature, its assumed, perhaps wrongly, that it will be well designed and well tested. When it is not, it can feel like having only half your house painted. Now I will give Markus credit, usually the house ends up painted, but its well after we've had to show him all the spots he's missed.

Wow, that analogy went further than I thought it would

agree with the positive 6.5 comments but the low save totals suck. In my fictional league, the most saves were 35 for a 2005 based year. Im sorry, but workarounds dont cut it. Thats what the CL designation is for....

See, I find this annoying. I want all players I acquire to go somewhere so that I can assign players where I want. I don't want to have to hunt through my minors looking for my draft picks or signed players. FPS baseball had a nice little box that was called "inactive players" or something like that, which was perfect.

I don't know if you've posted this in the forum for OOTP7 suggestions but you should. I really like the idea.

It's a good idea, but if we have any more little boxes on that transaction screen I'm gonna need a magnifying glass.

Already been done in threads like this one. It looked like the dfa box was going to cover everything, but with each patch it seems the "limbo area" concept gets lessened.
