Possible bug in importing from Lahman DB

Imagine my surprise when playing a historical league beginning in 1901, and a player that I never heard of before wins a batting title in 1906 with a BA of .499, (hitting 241 for 483 in 120 games).

That player was Frank Cross, who in real life played one game in 1901 and hit 3 for 5. Frank was originally releases by Cleveland in April of 1901 (in OOTP) and was later picked up by another team. He hit over .400 every year, but I never saw him before 1906 as his career was injury plagued. In 1906 his contact rating and talent ratings were both 166. (I got the actual by turning on the editor.)

I looked in Lahman's DB and found he was accurately listed as having played in one game and hitting 3 for 5. I repeatedly created a historical league with "Make bad hitters with less than 20 AB". Each time, Mr. Cross had a 22 contact rating and one gold star, but with a 234 talent rating for contact.

Furthermore, when I searched for players by ratings, leaving talent 1 to 100, I didn't find Frank Cross listed. When I raised the maximum ratings to 500, Frank Cross was now listed as he should have been. However, when I changed the contact talent rating from 100 min to 500 max (leaving all other ratings at max 500 since he also had a 105 eye/discipline rating), Frank Cross wasn't listed???

I'm starting my league over from 1901 with Mr. Cross's talent ratings manually lowered so that he'll won't develop into no more that an average hitter. But I have no way of knowing when the next player will appear out of nowhere with unhumanly great skill and no way to identify him before this happens, without looking at every player individually.

This seems to be something new since installing 6.5.
