OK, in honor of MicroLeague Baseball, I created a leage made up of the teams from that historic game, ie the '55 Senators, '27 Yankees, '79 Pirates, etc.
My question is, are the players going to start aging all out of whack when the next year starts (the league started in 2002)? For example, is the Babe all of a sudden going to be 90 years old (or whatever)? Or, as I suspect, they just continue to age based on the year they were imported, the date of birth becoming meaningless..? Thanks. |

You'll have to edit their birth year or their age will change on you.

Either that, or automatically adjust the players' birth year when importing.

This would be a welcome addition. Editing birth years is tedious work.

It didn't when importing a TEAM from the past. I believe it is doing it for individuals however.

In the first year, the birthyears don't seem to matter. I'm just concerned that I'm going to play out an entire year and then 95% of the league retires at the end because they're over 80 years old.
Note: Teddy Ballgame is off to a great start, despite being cryogenically (sp?) frozen. |

Vlad, the game changes the birth year automatically, at least when you import solo players it does. I imported Ricky Henderson into my fictional league (and renamed him) to see if he's steel 100 bases. It was the 1040s in my league. He imported fine (his career stats were screwed up, but his age was ok).

Yes, but when I imported an entire TEAM (the 1976 Yankees were imported into a league starting in 1985), none of the birthdays were updated appropriately.

Commish,
Did you see that immediately, or did it take until the next season for the ages to effect the game? |

Truthfully, I didn't wait around to see if the ages would be affected. We edited them immediately. Before the individual imports were fixed, it didn't have an effect till the player's birthday. That's when the age would calculate wrong.
