Seeking a League Logo

I'm not too skilled at making logos from scratch but I have a concept for a logo that I'm hoping someone else can bring to fruition. The logo would be the main logo for Victory League, replacing the banner in my signature. Here is my concept:

The main logo should be a V and an L. I would like the two letters to intersect, forming part of the shape of home plate with the V as the triangular back end and the L forming the right side. The left side of the V should be cut off where the V and L intersect on the right, to better give the illusion of home plate.

Then I'd like "Victory League Baseball" wrapped around the logo in a circular fashion.

I'd like it to stay with our existing color scheme, which is a dark blue (#464B69), light blue (#ccddee), light yellow (#ffffcc) and white. I'm not looking for a red-white-blue logo as this is a world league and not a solely American league.

I've uploaded a horrible example I put together. If you could somehow suggest home plate better than I did, that would be ideal. I'm not really partial to font (i.e. you don't need to use this one) but something modern yet basic would be best.

Anyone up to the challenge? If you win, I'll name an amateur after you in next year's draft.

This was sort of an idea sketch I came up with for Scott. Maybe someone can take it and run with it, adapt it more to what he wants.

I'm sorry I have not been around much, I miss you guys a lot, but real life sometimes gets in the way. It sure would mean a lot to me if someone with better skills than me could help out Scott, who is one of my best firends online. Thanks guys, and I hope to be back soon.

Thanks Mike. It's a nice start but I'd definitely like the V and the L to form the partial outline of home plate. Anybody care to give it another stab?

I've been out of the logo loop for awhile now, sadly, but I have been thinking about trying to do league logos as a change to try and get myself interested in logo making again.

No promises, but I'll see if maybe I can try to put something together.

That reminds me, I'll have to go download some real world league logos for inspiration...

Thanks to tcbl and preemptive thanks to LGO.

That's a cool start, tcbl, but if possible I'd rather have the V and the L be the outline of home plate rather than inside of it. I know that makes things more complicated which is why I have yet to give a serious attempt at it.

Bulldog, in case you didn't see it, you may want to check here for the version I did - I just put it into it's own thread.

You can post any feedback you may have in that thread, if you like.
