Version for Linux?

I really prefer to use Linux (right now I am using Mepis) over WindowsXP, and would love to be able to play this game on Linux. Perhaps Marcus could port this to Linux, keep all game-specific files within a directory? I don't think it would be that hard, but then again I'm not a programmer. It's just that there are few things holding me back from letting go of using Windows forever, and games like OOTP is one of them.

So now, OOTP7, if it's like every other SI Games release will be on CD. Now I don't know what kind of trouble the needs-CD code would cause, but it will probably be playable using WINE.

Hi,

I have tried OOTP2 (downloaded as abadonware) under Wine and could not get it to work. What may help is that OOTP7 will probably use SI's user interface code (and the user interface should be the only Windoze specific code).

Has anyone been able to run FM or NHL:EHM using Wine?

As a side note I would be in favour of a Linux version (as I am mainly a Linux user also), but not at the expense of any quality to the game. Having a few different ports may result in bugs having to be fixed a few different times, taking away development time that could be spent on improvements.

I don't own any Windows machine, I used to play OOTP6 with VMWare, but VMWare is quite expensive.
I'm really looking forward to the Mac version so i can at least play OOTP7 with my powerbook.
