Problem with Catobase transactions
I'm running a 32 team fictional league starting in 1980, and running catobase after every season. Everything else looks okay, except the transaction logs for a number of the teams show the wrong players involved in trades, and this sometimes leads to the player's stats being reported for the wrong team for that season.
An example of what I've seen: Losing: Charles Evans Charles Evans Bobby Woodley To: Odessa Getting: Bobby Woodley As you can see, Charles Evans was included twice there, and Bobby Woodley was on both sides of the trade. Not sure if this means anything, but a number of times that I've seen this, one of the players in the trade was on the trading block earler in the season when I look through the ltrans file. I can't honestly say if its been EVERY time or not, though. This problem led to Duluth's star pitcher Antawn Burks' player page showing that he pitched for St. Louis and Savannah in 1982, even though he's been with Duluth his entire 4 year career. Though his player page has no note of any transactions, St. Louis and Savannah's team pages show him as being traded from one another. I've also noticed that, if you look at the ltrans files or the team transactions html pages that OOTP generates, it'll look something like this: Trade with Odessa : We get : P Bobby Woodley Odessa gets : P Charles Evans P Bobby Woodley was assigned to the active roster. Could it be grabbing the "...was assigned to the active roster" information and including it in trades, making things get all sorts of messed up? Has anyone encountered this problem, and, if so, how do I ensure that it no longer happens? Last edited by ThruBeingCool913; 06-29-2005 at 08:56 AM. |

Jeff Cato suggested entering a blank line between the trade and the next transaction in the transactions file. http://ootpdevelopments.com/board/sh...7&postcount=42 You could give that a try.

Sorry about the above post - I logged in with a different username
![]() I'll give that a shot... that doesn't really explain how Antawn got put on the completely wrong team, but maybe it'll fix it. When I get home from work tonight, I'll take a look at his specific case and see if I see anything bizarre. Is there a quick way to get in there and change each instance of a trade in the ltrans file, or is it just going to be a whole lot of grunt work? |

Grunt work mostly. There's no really easy way to automate it.

I tried this last night on a new league, adding a space after each trade in the ltrans file, and it seems to have worked like a charm. Thanks for that advice!
