The Texas League Dynasty
I'm going to start a 6.5 dynasty. I will be changing all of the MLB teams to Texas teams( ie Yankees will become Amarillo Armadillos, Red Sox the El Paso Diablos) etc. There will also be a dispersal draft. I will be running the Nachogdoches Dragons(formerly the Millwaulkee Brewers) Updates will start tomorrow!

if you want some logos for the teams make a post for those fine people over at the logo and graphics board...most of them should be doable, and Ill probably even do a few myself.

Here goes the Draft- I have the 27th pick and its round robin style(serpentine)
1. Houston- They took Mark Prior 2. Dallas- Ben Sheets 3. Brownsville- Johan Santana 4. Austin-Roy Halladay 5. Marshall- Barry Zito Heres my picks 1. RF- Vlad Guerrero- Pitching was going alot early and he somehow lasted. He is the franchise player for years to come. 2. 1B- Jason Giambi- We have the best 3-4 hitters in the game right now! 3. SP- Odalis Perez- Young lefty will be solid. 4. LF- Barry Bonds- I was gonna take a pitcher, but couldn't pass on Bonds. Even if he is 40. 5. SP- Edwin Jackson- Only 23 and will be a stud. 6. SP- Sidney Ponson- Decent #3 7. CF- Juan Pierre- Speed demon. Will score 100 runs in this line-up. 8. CL- Damaso Marte- Will be shutting the door for many years as a Dragon. 9. SS- Stephen Drew- a 5* spect 10. 3B- Sean Burroughs- Maybe he will improve. 11. C- JD Closser- Solid contact hitter, D and arm are iffy. 12. SP- Merkin Valdez- Solid young sp. 13. 2B- Ramon Nivar- good contact hitter, still young. 14. MR- Ugueth Urbina- someone has to get the ball to Marte. 15. SS- Cesar Izturis- Filler till drew is ready. 16. MR- Jeff Zimmerman- Good reliable pitcher. 17. SP- Kurt Ainsworth- Solid #5 18. C- Chris Shelton- 5* spect 19. MR- Arthur Rhodes- LHP specialist. 20. 1B- Justin Morneau- Good young LH. 21. SP- Denny Bautista- 5* spect with loads of potential. 22. OF- Jason Lane- Solid backup. 23. MR- Bob Wickman- Still good, a little old. 24. LF- Jonny Gomes- 5* spect 25. OF- Kerry Robinson- solid speedster off the bench. 26. UTL- William Bloomquist- Can play alot of posistions> 27. C- Humberto Cota- solid D 28. SP- Matt Kinney 29. SP- John Danks 30. SP- Cla Meredith 31. UTL- Pokey Reese 32. MR- Shingo Takatsu 33. MR- Kevin Tolar 34. CF- Jordan Parraz then i left the comp finish. |

Barry was selected in the 4th round of the dispersal draft by the Dragons and is hitting .308 with 2HR's and 3RBI's. He's a lifetime .300 hitter with 705HR's. He hopes to get his first WS ring this year as a Dragon. When asked if he will wear a Pitt, San Fran or Nac hat when he enters the HOF, he replied "We will have to see if we win a world series here."
In other news,Dragons minor league 1st baseman, Fred McGriff also has announced he will retire by seasons end. |

Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel Word is that Fred McGriff could get the call up soon. He is terrorizing AAA , hitting .356 with 11HR's and 37RBI's. Justin Morneau will possibly be sent down so he can get some at bats. Riding the pine behind Giambi is not helping him any.

Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel McGriff steals the show!
Last night, the Nacogdoches Dragons pulled off a 2-0 win over Lufkin. Starter Sidney Ponson threw a complete game shut out and struck out 5. But the Nacogdoches crowd was more interested in veteran 1B Fred McGriff. McGriff, who made his first start with the Dragons on the same day he was called up from AAA, went 2 for 4. The grade went crazy on both of his hits. McGriff was pinch ran for in the 8th inning by Willie Bloomquist. |
