LOL, yea I've also been a bit thick in the head today, so my bad as well. And I'm certainly not the most politically correct person on this planet.

And on the name thing... I remember one time in Taekwondo that I had a very angry asian sparring against me as I had, evidently, pronounced his name incorrectly earlier that evening. He didn't correct me at the time, but he sure tried to correct it later with an overly enthusiastic butterfly kick to my head. Sometimes people take things too personal even if the percieve slight against their name was completely unintentional.

Now nicknames... those I think are totally fair game.

OK, now back to HOF discussion...

He was 29-31 when off to the war. That was right when his power started to kick in, and it along with the deadening of the ball prior to leaving cut his dingers down to "just" 251.

Matt's off on his championship teams. It was:

1934 NL Champ Dodgers
1935 NL Champ Dodgers
1939 World Champ Dodgers
1940 NL Champ Dodgers
1949 World Champ Phils

Pennants: 5
WS Victories: 2

His post season "appearances" are reduced because of:

Injured on 9/24/1935 with a Strained Groin Muscle, out for one week

Injured on 9/22/1949 with a Torn Abdominal Muscle, out for 4-5 weeks

But he got both of those injuries after playing full seasons, helping his team with the pennant, but right before the Series.
I'll correct this. But I can't see why a 1 week injury would've kept him out of the 1935 WS... he was BOY that year! Stupid AI.

This was easy... remove Ditty & Booth from last year's vote and add in Crocitto & Wright.

I will close this vote today.

I don't like ending with an even 20 votes because I don't like the rounded off percentages. However, I am leaving soon and want to announce the results:

Four new inductees including 2 first-timers and two other worthy candidates who've waited a while to get in.

Code:

Blake Crocitto	100.00%
Bud Breckenridge 85.00%
Jon Wright 85.00%
Alan Liao 75.00%
Sunny Davie 65.00%
Troy Kinnear 65.00%
Ping Hung 60.00%
Ervin Skjerly 50.00%
Jon Minzey 45.00%
Dave Arkless 45.00%
Terry Schukraft 45.00%
Mark Ponfick 40.00%
Dewey Mickelsen 30.00%
Willard Schwarz 25.00%
Bobby Martin 25.00%
Ricardo Bowden 20.00%
Mo Misisca 15.00%
Al Arsenault 10.00%
Harry Finley 10.00%
Ted Stuart 10.00%
Willard Schwarz falls off the ballot & will go to the VC next season.

The following players fell off the ballot for failing to get 5% of the votes. Their year they become eligible for the VC is in parentheis:

Tequila Allen (1973)
Andy Martineau (1971)
Cy Helbig (1974)
Schoolboy Emberling (1972)
Bob Bussmann (1972)
Chris Frays (1974)

Maybe should have left it open for the holiday weekend as people come by. The season is in "pause" for the holiday anyway. Though it probably would only have affected Liao, since Sunny and Troy were 2 votes before the cut line and they would have need 8 more people to vote *and* make all 8 ballots.

I always liked Liao. I'm at a loss at him getting in before Dewy. Did anyone ever thinking that Liao was better than Dewy? I'm starting to think that there are rumors going around that Dewy was a Communist or something.

Brady: maybe you should have Dewy throws his hands up and pull a Cosby on this - ask that his name get removed from the balloting. That's better than falling to 30% behind someone "nice" like Liao.

Don't ask me, John. I don't get it. Even the communists get in before Mr. Cub of TWB!

For the record, Dewey couldn't even spell Communist.
