another day, another win for the A's.

I'm beginning to like this trend.

Holy Cow!!!

The Raiders are killing the '9ers. Two TD's and a safety.......Wait it's baseball season.

16 runs, 22 hits and oh yeah Harden has only allowed one hit through 6 iinnings on 64 pitches.

Seems like he'd cruise to a complete game shutout today, but I bet he's done after the 7th because he's on a pitch limit. But definitely, VERY nice to have him back.

Guess what!

Eric Chavez is now hitting .272 with 11 HR and 43 RBI.
Barry Zito is 4-8 with a 4.21 ERA and a 1.27 WHIP.
Jason Kendall's average is up to .268 and he has a .352 OBP.
Joe Blanton, whose ERA was hovering around 7 not too long ago, has his ERA down to 4.70 now.

And this team is only four games under .500, folks. I'm not counting on anything spectacular, but this is not looking like a bottom-feeding team, or the "embarrassment" "Joe Morgan" claimed they'd be.

They're also just 6.5 games behind the wild card leading Minnesota Twins. Yeah, it's too early to really focus on the Wild Card but 6.5 games is nothing when it's still June. They still play the Twins 10 times, too.

I have a feeling Eric Byrnes might be on his way out. The Yankees and Cubs could both use an OF and Byrnes might bring the A's something. If the A's are in contention, which they are at this point, I can't see them trading Kotsay.

Yeah, I think if you're going to make a run, Kotsay has to be there, and with the Keilty has played they could use Byrnes to bring in some help somewhere else.

I'm still optimistic for a Kotsay extension, which would eliminate trade possibilites for him.

The Billy Beane era A's record in the second half is unmatched in MLB history. They aren't even remotely out of the pennant or wild-card chase with the master trade deadline dealer on the watch.

It is more important when just about the entire American League is in between you and and the prize.

btw, the Twins are half a game behind the Orioles

Which is why we shouldn't even look at the Wild Card now. We won't really know who seperates from the pack until August or so. Now the focus should be being at or over .500 by the break.

We've been playing great baseball as of late...are we any closer to catching the Angels??? Nope. They've been just as good.

We are currently the 4th worst team in the AL and we aren't even at .500...talking about contending is silly talk. When we put together a couple of good series' against teams ahead of us in the win column...and keep winning the games we're supposed to win...THEN, maybe there should be a whisper about the playoffs.

But, I'm with G'n'G...worry about putting .500 behind us...far behind us.

There's another win in the books. We're riding at a 6-game winning streak and are only 3 games under .500 now.

I usually watch on MLB.tv but the feed was super choppy today, so I took in the game on Gameday Audio and got to listen to Bill King. It was quite a treat.

Remember how the Yankees once put together an impressive win streak against the A's and the Mariners? The A's are just preying on the Mariners now.

Well I can take solace in the fact that they are beating the teams they should be beating.

Remember earlier this month when the A's took 2 out of 3 from both the Braves and the Mets? I wouldn't call that beating up on weak teams.

The true test will come this weekend, when they play the White Sox.
