yes...closing the game deletes them from the FA pool...you set all teams to human so the computer manager doesn't sign any players before you close the game.

Just ran a test and I was able to replicate the bug in a solo league. I clicked to open a player profile for a player from the AS pre-game screen, and a duplicate could be found in Free Agent pool and from the List All Players function from the Almanac. (The player whose page I brought up from the in-game screen wasn't duplicated.) I then set all teams to Human Control, quit the game, and re-started. The duplicate player was gone from the Almanac player listing and Free Agent pool (the original player remained with his ratings and history as before the AS game), and there was no record of his signing with another team in the League Transactions log.

Based on these posts, is it true that as long as I sim the All-Star game and don't open any screens for that day, including player cards, nothing bad will happen to duplicate players and release them into the FA pool?

I have the All-Star game coming up in my solo league. I don't mind just simming it without looking at player cards and simply looking over the box score afterwards.

That appears to be the case.
