Current Heavyweight fantasy matchups

Sorry for another thread but this forum doesnt get much traffic, but whatever I'm bored right now.

Champions:

WBC - Vitali Klitschko 35-2 (34): Since the Lewis fight, Vitali has been on a roll. He destroyed an overweight Kirk Johnson in 2, he destroyed contender Corrie Sanders to pick up the vacant Heavyweight Title in 8, and beat Williams around the ring and stopped him in 9. The winner of Rahman vs Barrett should be his next opponent, but Vitali seems to be interested in fighting the WBO Heavyweight Champion, Lamon Brewtser. Klitschko is very ackward and has heavy hands. He is also a smart boxer who uses his advnatges wisely.

WBC title record: LTKO 6 Lennox Lewis, TKO 8 Corrie Sanders, TKO 9 Danny Williams, KO 12 Michael Grant.

IBF - Chris Byrd 41-2-1 (20): He is the smallest champion. The slick Byrd has had some questionable decision lately. Many people felt he lost to Andrew Golota and Fres Oquendo. And he was able to beat Jameel McCline by slip decision, despite bing out-weighed by 60 pounds. Chris Byrd might be the most skilled champion, but he hasn't impressed lately. His next bout is a title defense against Serguei Lyakhovich. Chirs Byrd is a quick slick southpaw. He can make you look bad. He also has a good chin.

IBF Title Record: WUD 12 Evander Holyfield, WUD 12 Fres Oquendo, D 12 Andrew Golota, WSD 12 Jameel McCline, W UD 12 Serguei Lyakhovich, WUD 12 Corrie Sanders.

WBA - John Ruiz 41-5-1 (28): James Toney failed the drug test, so the belt goes back to Ruiz. John's style is probably the dullest. But he is a tough guy who does what he must to get the win. He clearly beat Hasim Rahman. He knocked out Fres Oquendo. And he got a controversial decision over Andrew Golota. He lost to James Toney but again, the drug test. John has decent power but he is physically strong and rough you up in the clinch.

WBA Title record: LUD 12 Evander Holyfield, WUD 12 Evander Holyfield, D 12 Evander Holyfield, WDQ 10 Kirk Johnson, LUD 12 Roy Jones Jr, WUD 12 Hasim Rahman, TKO 11 Fres Oquendo, WUD 12 Andrew Golota, ND 12 James Toney.

WBO - Lamon Brewster 32-2 (29): He has the most exciting style. People thought he was the worst. His major upset win over Wlad was good. He was Klitschko's punching back for 4 rounds before knocking out a tired Klitshcko. He also got a questionable decision over a jorneyman named Kali Meehan in his first round. But his last performance was an EXPLOSIVE first round KO win over dangerous contender, Andrew Golota, who many people think defeated both John Ruiz and Chris Byrd in his previous matches. Lamon posses power in his left hand. He is also very strong and has a very good chin.

WBO record: TKO 5 Wladimir Klitschko, WSD 12 Kali Meehan, TKO 1 Andrew
Golota.

Some Contenders:

James Toney 68-4-2 (43)
Hasim Rahman 41-5-1 (34)

Lawrence Clay-Bey 21-3 (16)
*Joe Mesi* 29-0 (25) (Might be retired)

(BTW, after every fight, I will edit this post and updat the records).

Mike Tyson vs Kevin McBride:

Pre-fight: Kevin McBride is a journeyman. His not a contender. But this is a huge payday for him and his making the best out of it. He is talking trash. He calls the fight his "coming out party" referring to Mike Tyson as a "stepping stone" to a title shot. Mike has been quiet. He is training and has gotten into shape. This fight is a mismatch, but anything can happen with Mike these days, if it goes past the 4th round.

The fight: McBride might be looking for a paycheck. I don't know if his in top condition. Tyson is in-shape and is all business. Round 1 starts with Tyson rushing as usual, and McBride trying to jab from the outside and is trying to just grab Mike. McBride gets caught with a huge cross and goes down instantly! McBride gets up at 6. Mike goes for the kill. His landing some brutal hooks and McBride goes down again. He stays down. Mike makes easy work of Kevin McBride. Mike improves to 51-5 (45) and Kevin McBride drops to 32-5-1 (27).

Post-Fight: Mike Tyson was asked if he would consider fighting for one of the titles some time. Tyson's answer "Yeah. That's my goal right now, to become a champio again. Look at what's out there. Klitschko, Ruiz, Byrd, Brewster....I know I can beat those guys. But I don't want to rush things, I need some more fights. I need to stay active. I am a changed man now. I have matured. I will continue to train hard."

Hasim Rahman vs Monte Barrett:

Pre-Fight: Rahman is mouthing off Vitali Klitschko saying "You duckin' me! I'd KO yo' ass and you know it? What's with all the injuries? I guess I'ma have to knock out Monte to get to you." Barrett is a hard worker. He is training hard. He knows a win over Rahman would be huge and would get him a huge payday vs Klitschko. This is a very good heavyweight matchup. Barrett is the slight underdog.

The Fight: The first 3 rounds we're won and controll by Rahman. Rahman was landing stiff jabs and big right hands. Barrett tried to fight a cautious fight but Rahman was nailing him. Round 3 was a war, both men were dishing it out but Hasim Rahman nailed Barrett with a punch that seriously hurt him at the end of that round. Round 4 was a clear round for Barrett, who came out a little more aggressive this round and was able to outwork Rahman. Round 5 was the same. Barrett doing enough to win the round. Round 6 was controlled by Barrett until Rahman landed a crushing right cross that sent Barrett down. Barrett got up at 6 and noded his head. He survived. Rahman took round 7 and Barrett outworked him in the 8th. Round 9 was a very close round but most have it to Barrett. By round 10, the damage in Barrett's eyes was bad. He was swelling up. Rahman landed another crushing right corss that sent Barrett down. Barrett got up but couldn't survive this time. Rahman stopped Barrett with a flurry of punches. Rahman wins by 10th round stoppage and imrpoves his record to 41-5-1 (34) and Barrett drops to 31-4 (17).

Post Fight: Rahman calls out Klitschko and says "I'm knocking you out punk! I'm taking you're belt!" Barrett said that Rahman fought well and caught him with some big punches. He also said that a Rahman vs Klitschko fight would be interesting. He said that he'll definitely be back sometime. He still wants to win a title.

Chris Byrd (Champion) vs Serguei Lyakhovich (IBF Heavyweight Title Fight)

Pre-Fight: Very little hype around this fight. Serguei Lyakhovich is most known for beating contender, Dominick Guinn, on FNF by 10 round decision. After this fight, Chirs Byrd is looking to unify some belts.

The Fight: Both men looking confident coming in. The first 3 rounds show Chirs Byrd easily out-boxing Lyakhovich. Lyakhovich doesn't land much punches at all. He is able to out-work Chris Byrd in round 4 by just a small margin, but Byrd clearly has the advnatage. Byrd wins the next 2 rounds by just simply nailing Lyakhovich with some good right jabs and counter-shots. Lyakhovich gets to out-work Byrd in the 7th round. The next round shows Byrd outbooxing Lyakhovich again. Rounds 8, 9, 10, 11 were all clear rounds for Chris Byrd as well. He is having an easy time tonight. Byrd dominates the final round and hurts Lyakhovich in the last minute. The judges scorecards: 120-108, 118-110, 119-109 all for the winner..and still IBF champ, Chris Byrd. Byrd improves his record to 40-2-1 (20) and Lyakhovich drops to 22-2 (14).

Post-Fight: Byrd says that he'll fight anyone of course. He is interested in unifying the titles with John Ruiz on HBO PPV.

Samuel Peter set to meet up with heavyweight contender, Andrew Golota! The hard htting and undefeated contender Samuel Peter will square of against Andrew Golota. It will only be scheduled for 10 rounds. Golota recently got knocked out by Lamon Brewster in under 55 seconds in his last fight. This is a stepping stone for the young Samuel Peter to see if he can face off with some of the bigger heavyweights.

Pre-Fight: No trash talking between the two. Peter says he'll win by knockout and after that he'll be looking for a title shot. "I have the power to destroy Golota" Peter says.

The Fight: So Peter comes in looking very confident. Golota looks calm but you never know whats gonna happen with Andrew.Peter comes out slow and is patient. He didn't come out like Lamon Brewster. Golota is able to out-box and outwork Peter to take the first round. Golota easily took that one. The second round is the same as the first, except Peter lands a huge hook that floors Golota at the end of the round. Golota gets up but is wobbled. Peter doesn't have time to finish him off though. Golota and Peter are about even in round 3 with a slight edge to Golota. Golota and Peter trade in the 4th round, and Golota goes down again! He gets up but Peter moves in for the kill and stops him! It's over! Peter improves to 24-0 (21) and Golota drops to 38-7 (31).

Post-Fight: Peter is happy with his perforamnce. He says "I want Vitali Klitschko's WBC belt next I want it. I am open to all challeneges but beating Klitschko is my main goal." Golota isn't retiring yet.

Looks good so far mate, I always enjoy the current fighter universes more than the older ones but that's just my preference at the moment. Nice to see Peter win, this is similar to my heavyweight universe with all the real life records. Check it out down the page a bit.

Thanks man! I didn't know how to manage the old heavyweights very well. I'm having an easier time with the new ones.

NEWS: Don King aranges a HBO card. A unification match between John Ruiz (WBA champion) and Lamon Brewster (WBO champion) will take place at the Madison Square Garden! The undercard will feature: Chirs Byrd defending his title against the dangerous, hard hitting contender, Corrie Sanders. Also, Jameel McCline will square of against Dominick Guinn on the undercard.

OTHER NEWS: Mike Tyson picks his next opponent! Mike will face off against fridge contender, Jeremy Williams in a biut scheduled for 10 rounds. Jeremy Williams brings a record of 41-5-1 (36) and has decent power. Williams last fight was crushing 2nd round KO defeated at the hands of undefeated, Samuel Peter. This should be a good one while it lasts!

BREAKING NEWS: It's ON! Hasim Rahman will be challenging Vitali Klitschko next for the WBC Heavyweight title. Both have agreed to meet at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas!

OTHER NEWS: Kirk Johnson will be squarring off against the only man to defeat Juan Carlos Gomez (KO 1), Yanqui Diaz in a fight schedulled for 10 rounds.

OTHER NEWS: There is alot of rumors about James Toney fighting Chris Byrd should Byrd get past Corrie Sanders.
Mike Tyson vs Jeremey Williams:

Pre-Fight: Jermey Williams says this: "You know, I'm very thankful. Mike is great guy, and I thank him for giving me this chance. I have power and he has power. This should be good. But I can box from the outside as well. I can jab and counter-punch. I can win this fight and make it look easy. Mike says "Jeremey is a good guy. This should be good work for me. He has punching power and his record is impressive. Should be a good fight while it lasts."

The Fight: So Williams looking a little nervous and Mike is all business as usuall. Both men come out and Williams trying to come out and enstablish the jab right away. OH! Mike nails him with a cross and down goes Williams! Williams is on bad legs! His up at 9....Mike sees his chance and tries to go for the kill! Williams is holding and running, doing anything he can to survive this first round. He survives! That was a scary first round for Williams. So Tyson comes out like a pitbull in round 2. Just nailing Williams with hooks and body shots! Tyson lands a huge uppercut and Williams is down! He is down but he gets up at 6. Williams has no chance to defend himself right now. Mike wins by TKO 2 and looks impressive!

Post-Fight: Mike says he felt very strong and fast tonight. He says "All this gym work is working well. I'm happy with my trainer, Jeff Fenech. I'd like to fight any of the world champions soon.

BREAKING NEWS: Brewster/Ruiz is OFF. Brewtsre will be facing off against Lujan Krasniqi next, who recently knocked out Lance Whitaker to earn his belt.

Jameel McCline vs Dominick Guinn

Pre-Fight: Dominick Guinn says "I know I've been on a bad run lately, only scoring only 1 win in my last 4 fights. But I'll press the action against big Jameel." Jameel McCline says "I lost my last 2 fights but they were competitive. I dropped both Chris Byrd and Calvin Brock. Guinn is a decent fighter but I will knock him out. I am sure of it.". So a win for either man would boost their careers up. This is an important match.

Fight: The first round is a good one. Guinn actually comes out and boxes well. he stays aggressive and does enough to win the round. The next two rounds show Jameel putting the pressure. He uses his size and out-works gun and even wobbles him in round 3 with an over hand right. Round 4 was like round 1. Guinn doing enough to win the round by just boxing the bigger man. Round 5 and 6 were rounds won by McCline. He uses his size and is hitting Guinn with some good shots. Round 7 was Guinn's round. He landed a big left hook that seemed to wobble McCline in that round! Round 8 was Jameel's. He did enough to win the round. Round 9 was a boring round but Guinn did enough to win it. He hurt Jameel with a left hook. The last round and McCline is putting the pressure but so is Guinn. Oh! McCline lands a huge overhand right and Guinn is down and seriously wobbled!!! Guinn is just holding waiting for the round to end. He survives it's over! The judges scorecards: 97-92, 96-93, 96-93 all for the winner by unanimus decision.........Jameel McCline!!!!! McCline improves to 32-5-3 (19) and Guinn drops to 25-3-1 (18)

Post-Fight: Jameel is happy he won and is looking for for more good matchups so he can get a title shot. Guinn is dissapointed saying "It's another tough loss. I got him with some good hooks but he was strong". McCline's comments: "Guinn is a solid fighter, but I out-worked. The knock down at the end sealed the win for me".

Chirs Byrd (Champion) vs Corrie Sanders (IBF HEavyweight title fight)

Pre-Fight: Chirs Byrd "Corrie is a dangerous puncher, but I'm going to avoid him all night and I'll outbox him easily. He is a tough guy but I'm too slick and too good of a boxer." Corrie Sanders "Byrd will feel my power eaely. That's all I'm saying, I'll nail him and he'll feel it."

Fight: Corrie looking confident and Byrd is calm. Corrie is known to be a fast starter. Corrie starts the first round quick and floors Byrd with a huge left hand!!!! Byrd is up and is smiling. Byrd is a little wobbled though and Corrie is going all-out!!!! Byrd survives the round using his great defense! The 2nd round is a little bit slower. But Sanders is nailing Byrd with some quick straight punches and he does enough to take the 2nd. In round 3, Byrd fought better. He out-boxed Sanders using his quick counter-punches and was able to take the round. Round 4 was controlled by Sanders, who had Byrd hurt in that round with a left hand. In round 5, Corrie is showing signs of getting tired because of the pace he fought at the first 4 rounds. Byrd is able to out-box Corrie in round 5. It was a dull round won by Byrd. Round 6, Corrie went all out for the knockout. He nailed Byrd with some good straight lefts but it didn't have the shocking power it had in the first round. Round 7, Round 8, and Round 9 were all controll by Byrd who out-boxed Corrie quite easily (although round 7 was quite close). Corrie is tired. By round 10, Corrie is really tired and doesn't have much power in his punches. Byrd out boxes him in round 10 and in round 11 as well. The lats round shows Byrd landing at wil with his punches. He even able to buzz Sanders with a combination of straight punches. Byrd easily takes that round. The scorecards: 115-112, 116-111, 115-112 all for the winner...and still IBF champion Chirs Byrd! Byrd improves to 41-2-1 (20) and Sanders drops to 40-4 (31)

Post-Fight: Chirs Byrd "Sanders hit very hard. He hurt me big in the first round. But I knew he I would out-box him. I would like to defend my belt against James Toney next. That should be a good fight." Sanders says that he will be retiring after a few fights.

Kirk Johnson vs Yanqui Diaz:

Pre-Fight - Kirk Johnson said the he is sorry for his bad showing against Vitali "I came in overweight. I wasnt fully prepared for that fight. Vitali is a very strong fighter though. I will take care of business against Diaz. Diaz doesn't say much"

Fight: Johnson is in better shape then he was vs Klitshcko. Diaz is a little bit overweight. The first round shows Yanqui Diaz coming on strong. He is landing some jabs and right hands. Kirk Johnson seems like his warming up. Diaz takes the round because he did more. Round 2 was Kirk Johnson's round who landed some good left hooks. He out-boxed Diaz and takes the round. Round 3 is exactly the same as round 3. Johnson's best punch is his left hook. he is landing it very often and Diaz is starting to swell a little but in his eyes. Round 4 is more of the same, except Johnson nails Diaz with a big left hook that floors him! Diaz is up right away and there is still alot of time left in the round. Johnson is landing at will and the referee stops it. Johnson wins by TKO 4! Johnson improves to 36-2-1 (28) and Diaz drops to 13-3 (8).

Post-Fight: Johnson says this "I came in in better shape and it all payed off. I was too fast for Yanqui Diaz, my left hook kept hitting him. The left hook I knocked him down with was perfect. I hope to get some title shots in the future."

Good stuff. I like the last match up but thought Grant would take it. He is a champ in my universe.

John Ruiz (Champion) vs Henry Akinwande for the WBA Heavyweight Championship:

Pre-Fight: John Ruiz: "I know I wasn't too impressive in my last fight against James Toney but I'll knock Henry out brutally. After this, I'll give Toney a rematch and beat him to a pulp!" Henry doesn't say much except the he's ready to fight and he's in shape.

Fight: The first round starts off with not much happening. It's a dull and boring round but Ruiz seemed to have laned the better shots. Round is pretty much the same as the first round - dull and boring with Ruiz landing the better punches. Round 3 is a much better round for Akinwande who landed some good right hands. Henry seems to be falling behin on the cards. He arguably lost 4 to 8 because he simply isn't doing much. Henry lands some good jabs and good right hands in the 9th. He takes the round, but it isn't such a good performance. Round 10 is the same except Ruiz floors Akinwande with a right! Henry is up at 3 and survives the round easily. Ruiz takes the 11th pretty much the same way he took all the other rounds. Henry was able to out-work Ruiz in the 12th. Judes scores: 117-110, 118-109, 119-108 for the winner...............................AND STILL WBA Heavyweight Champion of the world, John Ruiz! Ruiz improves to 42-5-1 and Akinwande drops to 45-3-1.

Post Fight: Ruiz: "I felt this was a sold perforamance. It wasn't pretty, but it was solid. I'll can fight Toney right now and knock his fat ass out! Toney, you're going down you loud ass punk!"

Lamon Brewster (Champion) vs Lujan Krasniqi for the WBO Heavyweight Championship.

Pre-Fight: Brewster " I saw Lujan's last fight against Goofi and he looked alright. But I'm gonna kill him. He won't have enought to keep me off of him. I've trained hard for this fight and it will pay off. BTW Chirs (Byrd), we'll always be cool but I'm gonna take your IBF tile!" Lujan doesnt say much at all.

Fight: Round starts off with Brewster coming forward and Krasniqi boxing. Oh! A solid hooks drops Krasniqi! Lujan gets up at 5 and seems okay. Round ends with Brewster just trying to finish him off. Lujan survives!!! Round 2 starts off and Krasniqi suprisingly doing very well in this round. He boxes well and takes it. Round 3 starts off and Brewster landing some huge shots! Lujan comes back and boxes well though, it's a close round! Edge to Brewster maybe. Round 4 is a slow round but Brewster lands the bigger punches. Round 5 is basically the same as round 4. Round 6 and Brewster is going all out for the KO now. He gets hit with some good counter-punches. Lujan took that round! Round 7 is controlled by Lujan! he's outboxing Brewster. Lamon might've takent that round off. Round 8 is huge for Brewster, who landed huge punches and hurt Lujan. Lujan is slightly winning round 9 until Brewster lands a HUGE hook that drops Krasniqi! Krasniqi is up at 6. He survives! Round 10 and 11 were controlled by Krasniqi who boxed well from the outside. ROund 12 is close but Krasniqi hurt Brewster with a right! It's over! Judges scores: 115-111, 114-112, 115-111 for the winner............................................ ..............And STILL WBO Heavyweight CHampion...LAmon Brewster! Brewster improves to 33-2 and Krasniqi drops to 28-2-1.

Post-Fight: Brewster: "Krasniqi was tough and he survived but I feel strong. I belive that if continue to train hard, I can beat any heavyweight in the world."
