New Baseball Card
I am just playing around with the idea of making a set of baseball cards for my league and I was just looking for some pointers and comments...
I know it's the Expos and not the Nationals... Last edited by tcblcommish; 06-06-2007 at 11:21 PM. |

Very nice, you stated the only thing what I could see wrong and thats it being the Nationals and not Expos, take that away and I can't find fault.

the background colour is a bit strong, but that's probably jsut me.
did you have to manually do it all or was it something that you could automate at all

I agree, could you maybe tone it down a shade or two? Overall, I lub them! dcc

Actually you could shade the red border to the same read as the expos logo and the lettering to the logo blue. Make the other team cards using the teams primary colours.

To me, the blue of the stats is almost unreadable against that brown background. I'd suggest maybe lightening the brown a couple shades maybe to a sandy brown.
Other than that, it looks real nice. |

Overall, quite nice.
Mostly minor suggestions to offer: For the back of the card, I'd left align the player name with his basic data. Right now the name is offset to the right a bit. I'd also always try to keep the club name lined up with the second column of basic data, though for long named clubs that might be a challenge. For the front of the card, I don't like the fonts for the player and team name. They just don't look like something I'd really see in print for something. Maybe try a sanserif typeface like Helvetica or Arial. I'd also drop the blue outlines around the player name, or change the colour; the current pairing really clashes, at least to me. Outlines generally work better around sanserift typefaces since those don't have the fine serif detail that something like Times or Garamond has. |
